Oximeter is giving a reading of 92 with a pulse of 103 for a 3 year old that has asthma while asleep after xopenex (levalbuterol). Is this normal? Is oxygen too low?

See below: A pulse ox of 92% indicates a moderate asthma attack. Pulse is normal. More importantly is wether or not your child is responding to treatment. Proper treatment can prevent the attack from becoming severe with a pulse ox <90%. You want to prevent that. CALL YOUR PEDIATRICIAN FOR ADVICE. Is stiffness of arms and legs (appeared on 200mg of vitamin B6 a day taken for 3 mths) a symptom of sth serious or will it disappear with time?

Prob. not related: It is unlikely to have toxicity from 200 mg of vitamin b6. If it is, it will almost always disappear if you stop it. If you do not start to improve, see your doctor because stiffness is not the usual symptoms from high b6. ...Read more

Is stiffness of arms and legs (appeared on 200mg of vitamin B6 a day taken for 3 mths) a symptom of sth serious or will it disappear with time?

Depends: B6 has two forms, active and inactive. Pyridoxal 5 phosphate p5p is the active form. Inactive b6 competes with p5p at the receptor. Some people do not convert b6 to p5p very well, so by taking high doses of inactive b6 can actually cause a functional deficiency due to receptor competition. Always take active b6. ...Read more

17yr old daughter is high level athlete. Put on monitor for a week due to complaints of fatigue with exertion. Came back with heartrate avg85 min 50 max208. Average seems awfully high for someone who is in such good shape?

Normal Heart Rate: Chloe,
The heart rates documented are not outside of the expected norm for someone that age. While an average rate of 85 may be a bit higher than expected for a well conditioned person it is hard to make a definitive judgement without knowing her activities while wearing the monitor. If, for example she was participating in several hours of sports during the day, it would increase her average rate ...Read more

My 15 month is taking cefprozil 1 teaspoon by mouth 2 times a day his weight is 24.4 lbs.. is this the right dosage?

Just about: If he is taking the 125mg/5ml dose of the medication (should be on the bottle) then this dosage is very close. Technically it looks like it should be 6.6mL every 12 hours but 5ml is 1 teaspoon which is fairly close. Should still get the job done but if you want to increase to 6.5mL if you have a precise measuring spoon/cup you could do that as well but run it by your pediatrician. ...Read more

Is it normal for 1 mo baby to wake up and crying almost every 2-3 hours ? What is the sign that a baby have lack of sleep ?

Yes, normal: That is how often 1 month olds want to eat and be cared for. They eat small amounts frequently to maintain their blood sugars and hydration because they are so small and don't have lots of reserves for doing those things.
