Depends: These two medicines can be taken together but you may end up feeling more groggy/drowsy then you want in AM. 10 mg of amitriptyline is a starting dose,instead of combining the two drugs, increasing the dose of it may be a better option. But before you up that dosage, talk to you doctor about the best plan of action, especially if you have any other issues like kidney or heart disease. ...Read more

Pinched Nerve/Muscle: Most times back pain that is sudden onset will resolve. You should use anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen, aleve around the clock and even tylenol (acetaminophen) to help. If this does not resolve you should see your doctor for a full evaluation. If it still does not resolve, I would recommend to see a spine specialist for a full evaluation and testing.
