Is it bad to drink out of a plastic water bottle after it has sat out for awhile and gotten warm? I've heard it is.

Probably bad because: Plastic water bottles contain hazardous chemicals and trace amounts leach into the water. When bottles sit in the water that will increase the leaching of these chemicals into the water (though the common idea that dioxins leach into the water is a myth). I advise not using plastic water bottles. It is far better to use glass or steel water bottles filled with filtered tap water. See comment:. ...Read more

Probably not: However, are you drinking 5 bottles of water because you are thirsty or because someone thought it was a good idea? Unless you have a history of kidney stones, you should be fine to drink somewhat less than 2.5+ liters of fluids (5 bottles of water + other sources of water). For most patients, a total daily intake of 2L of fluids should be more than adequate. ...Read more
