Is Drinking Crystal Light Good For You
I want to cut down on sugary soda and sweet tea. I love crystal light drinks, but they contain aspartame and artificial flavors. Still good to drink?
Sugary soda vs light: NO. Neither of them are healthy. So I recommend water, ice tea, lemonade-home made. Etc. ...Read more
Far as we know: Some people have been trying to link all the artificial sweeteners to lots of diseases, particularly multiple sclerosis. There have been a lot of studies that haven't shown a link between any of them in the amounts we could possibly consume. Safe until somebody shows an actual association. Try snopes. Com. ...Read more
Is crystal light bad for you? I drink several cups on a daily basis to replace soda and sugary tea
What crystals cause gout? Is there a particular food or drink I can avoid, to avoid eating or drinking whatever makes the crystals?
Sodium urate crystal: People with gout have an elevated uric acid and this can lead to the production of monosodium urate crystals that can precipitate in the tissues and in the joints and cause the gout attacks. In the susceptible individual alcohol, red meat can worsen this. Fortunately there are medications that can control and bring down the uric acid level and help prevent further attacks. ...Read more
I drink 2 liters of water a day but w/crystal lite powder mixed in. Do I lose the benefits of drinking a lot of water since there's also chemicals in it?
No, but drink water: It all depends...Water is an ideal drink and there is no real need to have crystal light, it is a choice. Personally, I now try to avoid all artificial sweetners. Your body responds to "fake" sugar in a similar way to the real stuff, just less intense. While people who have a soda a day increase diabetes risk by 50%, dirinking diet sodas increases risk 20%. Stay with water, imho! ...Read more
Miniscule: Pouring liquid into a 38% lead glass, and drinking from it over the next several minutes to hours is not going to affect you at all. Exposure risk is increased if you place slightly acidic materials in lead decanters or bottles: acids result in leaching out the lead from the container. Again -- this is a slow process over months -- not days. ...Read more
It is often stored: Most, if not all, glass-bottles have some lead in it, espcially thick, older bottles. Unless they break, lead-glass bottles are safe for storage purposes and should not pose health risk unless broken etc...So, your whiskey should be fine. Whiskey that is aged for 12-yrs or longer is even nicer--smooth! Drink responsibly, member52213. Be safe and don't drink and drive. Good luck. ...Read more

Occasionally when I pee the pee is nml color but there are tiny orange crystals feel like sand in toilet. If I drink a lot of water -the next time gone?
Hi on occasion for the past year I have had orange feels sandy, residue in toilet after urination, gritty Like crystals, Drinking water it goes away. Happens usually when I'm nice t drinking a lot. I'm 32 scared it's cancer. Don't see blood?
Urate crystals: That's my bet. It's fairly common. I'm going to assume you're taking no other medications. Keep drinking plenty of water, ask whether a urinalysis to confirm this is in order, ask your physician whether it's worth checking your blood uric acid levels, or whether it's worth taking medication to alkalinize your urine (I wouldn't) which would dissolve the stuff. ...Read more

Aloe and mitral v.: There are no indications for the use of aloe in your condition. When taken in small to moderate amounts (no more than 2-3X a week, then whether it's sugar or artificial sweetener, you're probably OK as long your overall diet is healthy. Personally, I'd save it for something better once a week like Tiramisu gelato. Also, there's controversy (check it out on-line) about all those sweeteners.
