Is Diffuse Rash A Symptom Of Urticaria
I got an adverse reaction to advil. Rash all over. Looks like urticaria. I took one 10 mg claritin (loratadine). Can I take another soon after? Painful itchy hives
Yes: If the hives are itchy, you may up the dose of Claritin (loratadine) to 4 x daily but this may cause some drowsiness. Allegra is another option. If the problem gets worse, you will need to see your doctor. Consult an allergist to find out whether you are "sensitive" to all NSAIDs or only to Advil.See 1 more doctor answer

See allergist and dermatologist: Your symptoms and clinical picture suggests to different diagnosis as -either simple allergic condition, or connective tissue disease, lupus erythrommatosus. You should be further investigated as blood test and may be skin biopsy may give clue to diagnosis. Avoid sun exposure, taking anti allergic medication and steroids may help. I have been diagnosed with urticaria which randomly appears on my skin as a rash. Is there any way of avoiding this or reducing symptoms?
Urticaria: Would sse an allergist who may wish to do some tests depending on your history. If a source is discovered it will need to be avoided. Often one is not and the symptoms can be controlled by the use of over the counter medication called antihistamines. Would ask about the non-sedating ones.See 1 more doctor answer
I've been told I have aquagenic urticaria because of my symptoms. When it's a hot day, same symptoms (red rash, itchy) happens too. Is it related?
Heat: We term this cholinergic urticarial and it is related.
Intertrigo: Intertrigo (intertriginous dermatitis) is an inflammatory condition of skin folds, induced or aggravated by heat, moisture, maceration, friction, and lack of air circulation. Intertrigo frequently is worsened or colonized by infection, which most commonly is candidal but also may be bacterial, fungal, or viral. Diffuse rash across hands, arms, legs & feet for a week. Spots on hands now like small blood blisters (1mm), don't disappear under glass. Feel fine.
Allergic reaction?: Could be allergic reaction to medicine, food, or result from viral infection. See dermatologist to find out why if it's a real concern.
Hives don't kill: Hives are very itchy and appear unsightly, but do not lead to death. They can be a sign of allergy or if going on for over 4 weeks, may be related to an autoimmune urticaria. Either way, there is pretty good treatment options especially with antihistamines. If there is swelling that affects the throat or breathing difficulties, see your allergist right away.
What are some medications to urticaria (skin rashes all over the body)? Does avyl work and when does its effect start to appear?
Rash or welts?: I don't know if you are referring to rashes (which tend to be raised or scaly lasting > 1day) or hives (which are raised bumps lasting for a few hours at a time). If it is an itchy rash, topical cortisone cream may help. If it is hives, then antihistamines may help. Cortisone takes several hours and antihistamine about an hour to work.See 2 more doctor answers

I keep on having red rashes and it spreads in my body whenever I scratch it. Previous doctor told me it's urticaria. What's the best thing should I do?
How do I differentiate cholinergic urticaria with miliaria rubra? I got rashes all over my body only after a few weeks of excercise.
CU changes rapidly.: Cholinergic urticaria (cu) will change within a few hours, if not, within a day; comes on more rapidly and leaves more rapidly. Cu will blanch. Taking a hot shower can bring cu instant on. Antihistamines done aggressively will help cu but not so much the heat rash of miliaria rubra. Cholinergic urticaria tends to be more uniform in appearance.
How to differentiate between urticaria, eczema and fungus infections. I have a bad rashes and itch all over my body.
Rash: Clinical exam, sometimes skin biopsy, history, fungal scraping for microscopic exam and culture. See your doctor or dermatologist who has had 8 to 10 years of training to be able to differentiate between different presenting symptoms it is likely that your symptoms are not due to either of the 3 things you mentioned.
