Fairly normal: When the gallbladder is removed, the bile has no place to go and leaks into the colon constantly. Bile is irritating to the bowel and thus you may have loose and dis colored stool. You can have your physician try a bile binding type medication. ...Read more

Bile can be irritating to the intestine and colon in some people and you may be one of those sensitive to bile. Questran (cholestyramine) is a bile binder and usually manages this type of diarrhea. Diarrhea s/p chole: Diarrhea is not uncommon s/p cholecystectomy. Bile is green. Your body now has to adjust and there are dietary restrictions . Post gb surgery: This is very distressing for you. The gall bladder used to store up bile that is necessary for fat digestion. I would recommend taking digestive enzymes with any meal that has fat in the food (that means most meals) to digest the fat. You also may have many food sensitivities or allergy. See a gastroenterologist to rule out other disease. Also Aspirin can cause diarrhea and bruising. ...Read more
