How big of a red flag for autism is asymmetrical crawling. My baby is 8 months old and also will twirl her arm and wave left hand up and down on occas?

Depending on prenatal, perinatal & post-natal history, there may have been changes in development of the white matter of her brain on the side opposite the extremities she disregards or doesn't use as well. If deep tendon reflexes & muscle tone/strength are asymmetrical, an MRI & pediatric neurology consult are warranted. ...Read more

Is stiffness of arms and legs (appeared on 200mg of vitamin B6 a day taken for 3 mths) a symptom of sth serious or will it disappear with time?

Depends: B6 has two forms, active and inactive. Pyridoxal 5 phosphate p5p is the active form. Inactive b6 competes with p5p at the receptor. Some people do not convert b6 to p5p very well, so by taking high doses of inactive b6 can actually cause a functional deficiency due to receptor competition. Always take active b6. ...Read more

What could be the cause of crawling sensation on scalp and body for months with normal brain and spine MRI and blood tests?

What could be the cause of crawling sensation on scalp and body for months with normal brain and spine MRI and blood tests?

Crawling sensation: in skin. If this comes and goes the first test I would order would be an EEG. Remind your neurologist, that you are having "positive" symptoms ( eg. flashing lights , sounds, crawling sensation etc) I'm not sure why you got the MRI of the head unless your EEG confirmed a focal abnormality or MS is suspected. www.healthtap.com/drericweisman ...Read more

W/ hand foot mouth, pediatricians, is it normal for my 2 yr old to develop a rash all over the back of his legs and butt? Small red dots. Treatment?

Yes: The area around the bottom and upper legs is a common additional site of hfm, it just didn't make it to the label when the pattern was being named.
