Is Contraceptive Pill Good For Ovarian Cyst
Gynecologist thinks mirena is best for my pcos and prevention of endometrial polyp.. endocrinologist says combination bc is better & mirena not good??
Both are reasonable: Both are reasonable options with advantages. Mirena is highly effective and does not require daily maintainence for up to 5 years. Most have light or no menstrual cycles which is a nice benefit. Theoretically but unproven the Progesterone could suppress endometrial polyps but polyps are rare at age 20. Birth control pills would regulate your cycles. Neither will “fix” PCOS. ...Read more
Also known as oral contraceptives, birth control pills are highly effective oral medications that use hormones to prevent pregnancy. There are two main types of birth control pills: one with estrogen and progestin (also known as the combination pill) and one with just progestin. The two main ways they prevent pregnancy are: 1) The hormones thicken the cervical mucous, which keeps sperm from entering the uterus on their way to the egg; and 2) By maintaining a level of hormone in the blood stream that prevents the ...Read more

androgenic and is also a monophasic. Is ortho cept a
good choice for me? On orthocyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate).
Likely fine: As long as you are not a smoker, just about any pill should be ok for you. But, you have to simply try the new one. Unfortunately there is no way to predict which pill you will do better with than others. Ask your obgyn for samples (orthocept (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) and cyclen aren't sampled to our offices anymore) good luck. ...Read more
Is oral contraceptive pills good to take to regulate periods? Is it effective in for irregular periods?
In general no.: The pill actually reduces non genetic epithelial ovarian cancer. It also likely prevents endometrial cancer in annovulatory women. However, indirectly you may see an increase in cervical cancer in pill users who decide that while on the pill it is ok to skip condoms with new partners. Having multiple partners without using a condom increases hpv contact and hpv can cause cervical cancer. ...Read more
