Neonatal addiction: Lots of loaded questions. They'll always do a urine test on you, due to your use. Many hospitals do these on all moms. If positive they'll do a urine & meconium on the baby. If the UDS is neg, some hospitals will do it, due to your history. As far as taking the baby, there are many other factors that go in to that decision, besides the drug screen. Can affect baby: Stress can potentially cause the baby to be smaller than if mom is not stressed. Lots of stress in pregnancy increases the possibility that the baby will be colicky ( that has been my experience). Babies feel the emotional response of the mother.
