Is Clotrimazole Safe For Babies
I have clotrimazole cream for my nipples, I forgot to wash it off the last time I breast fed... Is it harmful to babies??
Poison control: Your question is a good one. The resource for you is to call your local poison control number. The have countless files on questions like this. They are the experts. We will just be guessing. They are available 24/7 and the service is usually free. Hopefully you will not get to use them often.
My babys on clotrimazole for her white facial spots for 4 days now, don't seem getting any better, how long should I expect for it to dissapear!
Can take 1-2 weeks: But call your pediatrician with your concerns. This is a sign that the treatment isn't working, and it may be something else.See 1 more doctor answer
Safe: Topical or vaginal clotrimazole is very safe.

Pityriasis alba: Your child may have pityriasis alba which is abenign skin condition. It is self-limiting and usually clears without treatment. It leaves no scars or damage to the skin and moisturizers seem to help.
Probably: In small amounts so it is not absorbed.
Yes: This is safe if used sparingly and not for an extended period of time.
Clotrimoxazole: In all probability this should not be a problem, but is usually unnecessary and the question then becomes, are you having difficulty clearing a chronic skin superficial fungus infection? If so, it would be a good idea to see a dermatologist. Good luck.
Okay. ..: Yes, you may spray it as indicated for skin fungal infection and as instructed, but lightlyly applying its cream once or twice daily tends to be easier to use. Handier.
What's the best clotrimazole for my babys tinea/white facial spots? Dermotrim or candibec? Currently using candibec for 3days
Bleeding rash?: Candida usually causes a red, 'heaped up' skin rash with 'satellite' lesions. If there is bleeding associated with this rash, especially involving a baby, it needs to be seen and evaluated to assure that it is not a poly-microbial infection, allergic reaction or combination or the above with chemical irritation from urine. Call your pediatrician for assessment and or examination of the rash.
My baby was diagnosed having some type of tinea versicolor, given kind of clotrimazole, does my babys skin will back to normal color with this medicine, ?
Tinea Versicolor: Tinea versicolor is a common infection of healthy people caused by a fungus that is commonly found on normal human skin. There seems to be a genetic predisposition to develop tinea versicolor, the nature of which is poorly understood. This skin condition can be controlled but rarely cured.
Is lotrimin as strong as lamisil (terbinafine) in treating ringworm? And is it ok to use lotrimin 1% on my 4mo old baby. It looks like she has it on her stomach.
Yes&yes but only if: Lotrimin is an over-the-counter brand of clotrimazole which is an antifungal. While Lotrimin doesn't have specific adult vs pediatric guidelines, clotrimazole is approved for use in children. However, it's best to have your infant evaluated to confirm your suspicions. Lamisil is an OTC brand of terbinafine which is also an antifungal but only approved topically for children older than 12yo.

A: A rash that has been treated with all these therapies is very difficult to make suggestions for further therapies without seeing the rash. I would have expected a typical diaper dermatitis due to yeast to have cleared with the ketoconazole. I would be hesitant to use a stronger steroid under a diaper. I would suggest making an appointment with your pediatrician or a dermatologist. Emergency room doctors are generally not use to treating diaper rashes. Rashes just have to be seen to diagnose accurately and treat appropriately.See 1 more doctor answer
