Should we consume vitamn pills daily or get our nutrients from food? What are the necessary pills to stock up? I only take vitamin C and calcium

Should we consume vitamn pills daily or get our nutrients from food? What are the necessary pills to stock up? I only take vitamin C and calcium

Variety of food!: Nutrients are best when from fresh food which is processed as little as possible. There is no real proof that any vitamins or supplements are better, when compared to food, for overall health (except for specific deficiencies). Learn what's in the food you eat, and enjoy it! ...Read more

My daughter just got tested for lead and it came back high. Is it true that I can give her stuff rich in calcium, iron and vitamin C to help lower it?

My daughter just got tested for lead and it came back high. Is it true that I can give her stuff rich in calcium, iron and vitamin C to help lower it?

Yes: It is important to try to find the source of lead to minimize further exposure. Vit. C, calcium & iron can help, as can vitamin d, zinc & selenium. I also advise pectaclear, which has modified citrus pectin & alginate & is proven to safely lower lead levels. See http://www. Lead. Org. Is ascorbic acid a synthetic form of vitamin c? What is more effective calcium ascorbate or sodium ascorbate?

Is ascorbic acid a synthetic form of vitamin c? What is more effective calcium ascorbate or sodium ascorbate?

Not necessarily;same: All vitamins go by 2 names, their letter name & chemical name. Ascorbic acid is the chemical name of vit c, as pyridoxine is the chemical name of b6 etc. Ascorbic acid refers to both natural & synthetic forms. Almost all vit c supps are synthetic & most derived from corn which is likely gmo. I favor c from non-corn sources like cassava root.Calcium & sodium ascorbate are equally effective. Currently I'm taking vitamins that I bought in nearby drug store. I have vitamin c, calcium, and vitamin E capsules is there a sequence in taking it?

I have heard to take vitamin d and calcium supplement together. Is it really bad if I do not? Because I only take vitamin d with vitamin c.

Vitamin therapy: Vit D is a fat soluble vitamin so it is best absorbed with a high fat meal and levels seem to do better if taken with supper. Vit C is water soluble and therefore excreted if you take too much at one time. Taking both together would probably decrease absorption of both so should be taken at separate times. Calcium would be better absorbed taken with Vit C since it is an acid ...Read more

Is it really important to take vitamin d and calcium supplement together? What if you do not is it serious? But I take vitamin c and vitamin d together is this okay?

Is it really important to take vitamin d and calcium supplement together? What if you do not is it serious? But I take vitamin c and vitamin d together is this okay?

Vitamins combined in: All foods, beware lots of untrue promotions. If vitamin D3 (crucial to enable both calcium absorption from food & the bone forming cells to form bone; + other issues) concentrations are upper normal, e.g.70-80 ng/ml, then rarely even need Ca beyond within food. ↑ vitamin C rarely of any value for people living in 1st world countries; Lookup: "Linus Pauling & Vit. C"; actual evidence using Google. ...Read more

I was wondering I have been taking vitamin c and vitamin d for a year. Have I overdosed myself. If so how do I know. Are there any symptoms? Also I have heard to take calcium supplements with vitamin d. What if I don't is it serious? But I take vitamin c a

Vit c, vit d: You don't say how much you have taken. Vitamin C is hard to overdose on, especially if you are sick or stressed. Side effects would include heartburn, reflux and diarrhea. Vit D however, is fat soluble and therefor, more prone to overdose. I have pts take 2-5000 IUs daily. Overdose Symptoms include increased calcium, kidney problems, weakness, nausea and vomiting. ...Read more

Is safe to take in combination: Zinc, Calcium complex, Vitamin C, Flax seed oil and Whey protein?

Those supplements: In combination are not a problem. Perhaps a more important question would be why do you take them all? If you have health concerns please see your doc or a nutritional consultant. Split vitamin C up into a.m. and p.m. doses because it only lasts about 12 hours in body. Peace and good health. ...Read more

I am trying to find supplements for sev. Osteoporosis, are vit k2, chia seeds, vit d3, vitamin C magnesium & calcium safe & beneficial for bones?

Yes: These are good choices. Some calcium & magnesium supps are much better absorbed than others- I like calcium citrate/hydroxyapatite & mag. Taurate/glycinate/citrate. Your dose of calcium & magnesium should be roughly equal. About 5000 units of d is good with 15 mg (not mcg) of vit k2. Consider strontium & boron. See www. Drdach. Com/wst_page6.Html. ...Read more

I take fish oil, vitamin c, vitamin d, calcium plus vitamin d, red yeast rice, multivitamin, which of this is the most effect?

Ca and D: Why are you taking all that junk? What do you think it will do for you? How will you know if it's working? What deficiency are you treating or what disease are you trying to prevent? There's no scientific evidence that any of that will help you except for good calcium in your diet and about 2000 units of d a day.
