Is Burning 800 Calories A Day Enough To Loose Weight
Hi I am trying to loose weight and do exercises daily but didn't sweat that much, am i burning calories or not?
Exercise: Sweating is not necessarily an indication of whether or not you are burning calories and in turn losing weight. People that go into saunas or steam rooms sweat quite a bit, but that sort of weight loss is only transient and a couple bottles of water could put that weight right back on. Weight loss is related to calories burned and intensity of workout, the more intense the more burned. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

When trying to lose weight and you are counting calories should the overall calorie intake matter Or just the net. Intake after burning calories?
Both: (cannot answer on your particular health, but...) 1) weight change is from net calorie loss. Type of food intake irrelevant, calories in versus calories out. 2)BUT! much/most of the weight loss will be from MUSCLE (bad) unless exercise goes along with the dieting. Exercise without dieting has a LOUSY success record on weight loss. Track both net loss and intake/exercise. Do Both diet and exercise ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hi, is it possible to loose weight on less than 800 calories a day? If I can loose half a stone with junk food then surely is possible when I diet.
Yes but calories not: correct issue, only a way of measuring energy to heat water by burning food in a calorimeter; ignores all digestive, absorption, metabolic response/handling, body tear down/rebuilding issues, etc. Yet long promoted to public as it this was adequate to explain responses of complex living creatures over time. Can you tell me if i ate around 700-1000 calories a day, thats without exercise.. (i'd probably do 200-300 worth of exercise) would this help me loose weight?
Yes but: This is rather excessive caloric restriction. It won't be sustainable in the long run. If you want to utilize this in the short run to augment your initial weight loss, that's not too unreasonable, but after that you'll need to consider a caloric range that's more sustainable in the long run(of your weight loss period), like in the 1500-1800 kcal/day range. ...Read more
