Is Bronchodilator The Medicine Inside The Inhaler
Depends: If asthma is under control just take your steroid inhaler. You shouldn't need your bronchodilator (rescue inhaler) on a routine basis. On the other hand if you are experiencing symptoms of asthma - coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain - a bronchodilator can relieve bronchospasm & airway obstruction permitting the inhaled steroid to reach the more affected breathing tubes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Do I need a prescription to purchase a bronchodilator inhaler in Canada or can I buy it over the counter. If yes, is a walk-in clinic alright?
Is there any harm in using a steroid inhaler just BEFORE a bronchodilator? I do so in the morning before having any symptoms under doctor guidance.
I might have exercise induced asthma. Will a walk-in clinic do tests? How will they prescribe a bronchodilators inhaler?
Can you suggest a bronchodilator which doesn't cause tremors n has least side effects n is effective against asthma..N shld b an inhalor as it's easy?
Levalbuterol: Albuterol makes lots of people jittery, xopenex (levalbuterol) or Levalbuterol generally does not. It is left handed albuterol. Some insurance companies will need this prior approved. This is a rescue inhaler, in place of albuterol, not an inhaled corticosteroid. The corticosteroids shouldn't make you jittery either, but they are for maintenance of symptoms. ...Read more
Bronchodilators: The usual bronchodilators often causes some anxiety or jittery side effects, but a new form has less side effects (xopenex). Use of corticosteroid inhalers and longer acting bronchodilators is becoming more common to reduce the use, and thus side effects, of the standard bronchodilator albuterol. Other medications are also available to reduce the use of albuterol. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Use Caution but OK: Caution should be exercised if taking albuterol with underlying panic/ anxiety disorders, as albuterol can cause anxiety. However, it can be used if you are relatively stable and the prescriber believes the benefits outweigh the risks. Xopenex (levalbuterol) may be a safer alternative vs. albuterol- but may require the prescriber to call the insurance company saying you have an anxiety disorder to be covered ...Read more
I'm concerned because the doctor gave me ventolin salbutamol syrup (bronchodilator ) , he told after the medicine ends , make blood test . Why?
No reason: If your doctor wants to do allergy blood tests, then there is no reason to wait since salbutamol syrup does not affect it and should not be the only drug to be used for asthma treatment. I suggest that you consult an allergist because the recommendation makes no sense at all. ...Read more

Better control: Asthma is inflammation and bronchospasm (as well as mucus production) so a product that treats inflammation and one that treats the muscle spasm addresses the major components of asthma. It is more convenient to use one inhaler vs. Two, thus the combination inhalers for asthma. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Diagnosis...: Your cough needs to be diagnosed by your doctor. Besides chronic bronchospasm, chronic cough can be caused by gerd, post-nasal drip or a combination of factors. No: Airomir is salbutamol, has been used in asia and australia for a long time, but not in the us. Don't we wonder why, with all the need for studies here to pass a drug? It is a b-agonist like albuterol. It is the carrier and the base that changed to change the feeling and the taste. It is an old medicine that is new to us. ...Read more
