Is Biaxin A Form Of Penicillin
Doxycycline: Doxycycline for 2-4 weeks is recommended if penicillin cannot be given, or sometimes ceftriaxone. However, penicillin is by far the best drug. If you had a severe penicillin allergy in the past, then probably penicillin should be avoided. Otherwise, it still might be the best choice for you. Discuss it with your doctor or, even better, an infectious diseases or STD specialist. ...Read more
I've been told I have bacterial tonsillitis, allergic to penicillin, been on clarithromycin for 7 days, still not gone
What should I do?

My sister was given antibiotics for a UTI but she is allergic to penicillinthey have penicillin in them I have some clarithromycin could she take them?
I took mdma while on penicillin then took clarithromycin 2.5 weeks later. Will this delay a girls period?
No: But if you had unprotected sex while on the mdma it might. Chronic drug abuse causes many problems with women's reproductive endocrinology, but one time use of penicillin, biaxin (clarithromycin) or mdma would not likely cause any problems. Mdma is an increasingly more dangerous drug, with impure forms like"molly" causing death and severe complications like seizures and brain damage. Put away the toys! ...Read more
I want to know if Levaquin treats strep throat or bacterial pharyngitis since I'm allergic to penicillin and resistant to biaxin (clarithromycin)?.
Not a good choice: Levaquin is a broad spectrum antibiotic and usually preferred for more serious infections. Strep throat is usually still amenable to most first generation antibiotics. Being allergic to penicillin suggests u shd try a cephalosporin which shd help. Resistant to Biaxin (clarithromycin) is unlikely and erythromycins may still work. Relatively safer medications like clindamycin also exist. ...Read more
