How can I gain weight during my pregnancy I'm already 22 weeks and I've lost a lot of weight and I barley gained 2lbs.?

Calorie dense foods: Eating calorie dense foods such as nuts, heavy cream, butter, fatty fishes, dried prunes, and avocado can help increase your daily calorie intake and assist in the desired weight gain. Supplements for weight gain would be inferior in quality to whole foods which are readily available and much less expensive. Your obstetrician should be made aware of your weight concerns. ...Read more

period was 2 days late and only lasted 3 days, first day being heavy second day not so much and third barley anything. Pregnant?

Probably not: If you are now 5 days after your expected period a urine pregnancy test would be accurate. This could be a normal variation on your cycle, or possibly an early conception that failed (miscarriage). If you are not trying to get pregnant use contraception to avoid these scares. If you are trying to get pregnant continue with good health practices and self care including a vitamin with folic acid. ...Read more

Repeat in morning: The earliest way to tell if you are pregnant is with an early detection pregnant test done on your first voided urine in the morning. This can be positive even a few days before a missed period. Your doctor's exam should be able to tell if it has been more than 4 weeks since ovulation. ...Read more

I have had hypogonadism since I was 26. I've not been able to get my wife pregnant and my testicles use to hang down, now there in me or barley out?

Hormone Blues: If you are hypo gonadal then hormone replacement can help you to produce sperm. I assume you have had treatment since you imply failed attempts. Having sperm is not the same as having functional sperm. You may have poor quality sperm that cannot fertilize an egg. Ivf with icsi (sperm injection into the egg) is very effective if hormone therapy alone is not. See specialist for details. ...Read more

My girlfriend barley got off her period and we had unprotected sex, could she get pregnant? This happen a week an a half after she got off her period.

Yes, definitely: Your timing could not be much worse. Pregnancy risk is highest in the first two weeks of a normal cycle, and waiting until the period is over will put you into the beginning of her most fertile period. Unprotected sex is unwise in any case and you and she are not acting very responsibly. ...Read more

It's always possible: Any time of the month where unprotected sex occurs can result in pregnancy. I am 16 weeks pregnant and have been having severe stomach pressure. It has gotten to the point where I barley even eat anymore. What is wrong?

Please get checked.: It's impossible to determine if this is related to the pregnancy or not. Lots of things can cause severe stomach pressure: ulcers, gallbladder problems, viral illnesses. The growing baby can push on the stomach and cause more problems, especially with eating, but it really takes a good history and exam to know what's going on. Please let your doctor know- don't put this off! Best of luck! ...Read more
