Is breast cancer really linked to upper back pain? I read in an article that it can be one of the first signs. I'm a little worried.....
By itself, no: Many people have back pain; so back pain by itself is not a sign of breast cancer. However, if you have a history of breast cancer or if you find a lump in your breast or axilla (armpit), then you should check with your doctor since breast cancer frequently travels to bone. Muscle pain likely: Most back pain in young active males is from muscle strain . Why do you think it's cancer? Does someone close to you have cancer or has recently died'?
