Is Antifungal Cream Safe On The Anus
Have excessive itching in my genital area & anus. Have seen a number of doctors & they have given cortezone and antifungal cream but no change.
Inflamed & red around anus/bum, antifungal&diaper cream helped, now little red pimply dots, does not hurt or itch. swab negative, heat rash perhaps?
Dermatitis: Perianal dermatitis can be caused by moisture and/or friction. Try avoiding very tight clothing,keep the area clean and dry and apply a cortisone type ointment. Fungal Proctitis occurs in Immunocompromised patients, Fungi like Candida albicans are normal inhabitants of the colonic and anorectal mucosa so most of the time they do not attack the rectal mucosa!
I immunocompromised patients they may invade it in which case best to treat them with oral antifungal agents like Fluconazole tablets!
