Other drugs that do the same thing but that produce fewer side effects, like loratadine or fexofenadine, are safer alternatives and are recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics for breastfeeding mothers who wish to take antihistamines. ...Read more

My son got stung by a bee 30h ago on his foot, it's swolen and itching all the time. I treated his foot with Anthisan and allergex cream but stil swn?
It happens: It is evident that your body didn't like the bee and has had a significant reaction to the bites. This is not uncommon and usually represents the blood vessels leaking fluid out to surround any injected bug vomit to prevent it from getting into the blood. I like to look at bites if they get that intensity of a reaction and be sure infection is not setting in. Have it checked. ...Read more
My son is 3 years old. During the day he is 100% but whenever he lie down for a nap or night time sleep he start to cough. He coughed so at his afternoon nap that he vomited. I think its nasal drip so give allergex any other advise?
Consider other issue: If this occurs only when he's laying down it could relate to the position change or the location. Is there something in his sleeping area that irritates his lungs to make him cough? Does he have a subtle form of reflux that triggers small amounts of refluxed material to trigger the cough? You should discuss this with his doc. ...Read more

I'm pregnant, 26 weeks. I have severe sinusitis with post nasal drip which is bad. The GP has prescribed l allergex p/day. Can I take 2 per day?
Can add nasal rx: I would check with GP before increasing allergex. However you can add nasal saline rinses which are safe and necessary to treat sinusitis. Also budesonide nasal spray is pregnancy class ‘B’ (in the US). Post nasal drip is also a potential symptom of reflux, which occurs more frequently in pregnancy so don’t forget about that. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Good day I woke up with swollen eyelids nose bridge and forehead. I had sinus last night and took two allergex. Would an antihistamine work better?
Probably not: Allergex is an antihistamine. It is chlorpheniramine. If it was an allergic reaction, it should have helped. If it helped, but only slightly then maybe taking a longer acting antihistamine like (cetirizine or fexofenadine) might help. You should also consider other causes for the swelling is the antihistamines are not helping. ...Read more
