Not same: But they are similar (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Aleve (aka naprosyn/naproxen) is taken twice a day whereas ibuprofen (aka Motrin, Advil) is a med that can be taken every 6 to 8 hours (this 3 or 4 times a day).
