Is Alcohol Such As Gin Or Vodka Considered A Clear Liquid
I'm taking 3 asacol (mesalamine) in the morning and 3 at night. What are the side effects of drinking hard alcohol such as gin or vodka with these medications?
Trimmed toenails-noticed dark grey raised spot next to big toenail-slight pain, think it was ingrown nail. Trimmed off spot of skin, it bled a bit, blood went deep, and a tiny bit of clear liquid (pus?). Cleaned w/isop. alcohol + bandaid. Infected?
Probably: It does sound like an ingrown toenail, which usually does involve infection. The corner of the nail grows into the skin edge and burrows in causing infection. If it is mild, you can sometimes keep the nail edge elevated out of the skin and it can grow past the area. If that does not work, probably would be good to be seen. ...Read more
It could: Depending on how quickly you drink it. Every fall, there are unfortunately deaths, usually in high school or college age kids involved in fraternity/sorority initiations who chug even smaller amounts (a pint or even half pint), but drink it so quickly that blood alcohol levels go up very fast, resulting in respiratory depression, coma and death. Depends on your tolerance and health. Get help. ...Read more
Yes: If that person were alcohol naive, or if it were consumed very rapidly, or if there were other sedating cns-acting drugs on board, yes. Every fall during the unfortunate 'hazing' season at fraternties/sororoties many young people die of significantly less alcohol that that, because it is rapidly "chugged.'" most people fall asleep or throw up before alcohol will reach that toxic a level. ...Read more
My roommate thinks she is allergic to the histamines in alcohols like tequilla and vodka. Is this possible?
Alcohol Allergy: Alcohol is a spontaneous mast cell degranulator. Your friend is probably not allergic, rather just has a side effect from ingestion of alcohol. Is it that she is drinking too much and then the reaction happens or is it with the first sip? Does it happen with all alcohols? Does it happen with different brands of vodka or tequila? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Vodka shot: This shot of vodka can definitely impair you and can harm. Given that you are a regular drinker, your liver may clear the ethanol faster. A person who is small can indeed be harmed. I would like rubbing alcohol to do a newspaper design on my nails but I have none so can I use normal alcohol like vodka or something?
I have no idea: I really think you need to direct this question to a cosmetologist or someone into crafts, rather than a physician who deals with people drinking alcohol, and not decorating with it. Isopropyl alcohol is pretty easy to come by, particularly in boston. Any pharmacy or supermarket will have it on the shelves. Do you want your nails to smell like vodka? ...Read more
