Is tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 good for breaking a fever for a 21 year old?

Is tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 good for breaking a fever for a 21 year old?

Don't need codeine: Tylenol (acetaminophen) iii contains codeine. I wouldn't use such a big gun unless there was a good indication. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is an antipyretic and relieves pain - it would be a better choice. An NSAID could also help. ...Read more

Is it good to take tylenol (acetaminophen)? What is a low grade fever?

Good for nothing: Why are you thinking of using it. Most fevers are a sign of your body responding to the illness you are having....So there is no scientific reason to use Acetaminophen. You do not get better faster if you take Acetaminophen by by taking it you are taking an unneeded medicine. ...Read more

Good day! My son has a fever since lastnight, always 38 degrees celsius never go down eventhough im giving him paracetamol tempra (acetaminophen) infant drops, his 6 mo?

Natural response: 38 degrees celsius is not a particularly high fever, though it might be significantly higher if you were not giving him paracetamol. Paracetamol reduces fever but does not eliminate it. Fever is the body's natural response to infection and helps the immune system fight an infection. Thus, suppressing a fever can interfere with this response and prolong an infection. Please see my comment for more:. ...Read more

Is it good to eat panadol (acetaminophen) straight when we have fever? Or should we wait for a day? My biology teacher say that fever is to kill microorganisms

Is it good to eat panadol (acetaminophen) straight when we have fever? Or should we wait for a day? My biology teacher say that fever is to kill microorganisms

Temp: The body temperature may be only one small part of the defense mechanism against invading organisms. If the fever is high, you will feel better treating that, and it won't alter the course of your body fighting the infection. Make sure however to see your primary care doctor if it gets worse, or you can't stay hydrated. Hope this helps! ...Read more

My son recently have flu for 2 days now, and today his right ear is painful, his been taking childrens tylenol (acetaminophen), he start crying what's good for him? With out seen a doctor. Or we have too bring him to the emergency room?

I: I don't think this issue warrants a visit to the emergency room. However, an office visit with his pediatrician would be a good idea. His doctor will be able to examine him and determine if there is a source for infection that requires antibiotics (which could possibly be an ear infection). In the meantime if tylenol (acetaminophen) is not working for his pain, children's Ibuprofen may provide some relief. Check with the pharmacist for the correct dose if he is under 2 years of age (do not use if he is less than six months old).
I hope he is better soon. ...Read more

Can I give tempra or tylenol (acetaminophen) to bring down his fever?

Weight based meds: Both tylenol (acetaminophen) (acetomenophen) and advil (ibuprofen) have age and weight based dosing for children with fever. Luke warm bath splashing can also help--do not use ice water or alcohol baths!
of course, finding the reason for the fever is most important, so if the child is ill, they should be evaluated by the doctor. Do not give Aspirin to children under 18, to avoid reye's syndrome, a bad liver dzz. ...Read more

How long should it take for a fever to go away after taking tylenol (acetaminophen)?

How long should it take for a fever to go away after taking tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Fever: Fever is the body's way of fighting infection so it is not really a bad sign. Fever will break when a viral infection runs its course (3 to 10 days) or when the bacterial infection succumbs to the antibiotic (24 to 72 hours). So the fever may not break after 4 hours - the expected duration of action of acetaminophen. ...Read more

3rd old fever not going down after 50 min of tylenol (acetaminophen). How long usually take for med to work?

Should be OK: 50 minutes is sufficient time for tylenol (acetaminophen) to begin to reduce a child's fever if it is going to do so. The question is whether this is really necessary? Is the baby uncomfortable from the fever itself, or is it you who feels uncomfortable having a child with fever. Fever, if tolerable, may be beneficial in the management of infection by our immune system. ...Read more

Infant age 1 fever n gave panadol (acetaminophen), fever went off last for 2hr. Fever came back again n gave panadol (acetaminophen) n it also last for another 2 hrs. So now worry.

Expected pattern: A child with a fever producing illness will run that fever in some pattern until the illness is gone. This would seldom be less than a few days. Acetaminophen is expected to suppress the fever by a degree or so while it is in the system, but it does not "fix" the illness. If the kid fails to drink well enough to void every 6 hours, refuses to play, or other bothersome symptoms, have it evaluated. ...Read more

For pain or fever: You can give Tylenol (acetaminophen) to anyone in the appropriate dose for weight whether or not they have fever. Pain from immunizations or teething would be examples of pain no fever.

When giving Tylenol (acetaminophen), ask why you are giving the Tylenol (acetaminophen) and what is it you want to happen? If the baby is crying, 99 times out of 100 Tylenol (acetaminophen) is not going to help. As you already know, babies cry for a variety of reasons. ...Read more
