Yes, discuss w/ doc: There are prescription options for yeast. However, if OTC treatment hasn't worked, many of the prescription drugs also might be a problem. What multivitamin is side effect free? What whole food multivitamin is good for yeast infection and if our diet is not including fruits and vegies??

What multivitamin is side effect free? What whole food multivitamin is good for yeast infection and if our diet is not including fruits and vegies??

Nothing for Sure: There is no multivitamin, supplement or medication that can be said to be side effect free for sure for everyone. You could have adequate levels of one of the vitamins & get toxicity or be allergic to an additive. That said look for a USP certified vitamin & men generally should avoid iron. We over supplement! For yeast infections, can try a probiotic or live culture yogurts. Good luck. ...Read more

Could I be pregnant if throwing up while using miconazle for yeast infection or is it a serious side affect have been getting sick the past few nights?

Could I be pregnant if throwing up while using miconazle for yeast infection or is it a serious side affect have been getting sick the past few nights?

Yes: Certainly could be pregnant. Check a pregnancy test; if negative check it again in a week. This medicine should not cause any complications for a pregnancy. It would be extremely unusual to have a side effect of throwing up from the medicine if using the cream. Still very uncommon for Diflucan (fluconazole) as well. If you're getting sick, as the flu has been going around, that would be most likely. ...Read more

On humira for a year, now have yeast infections after sexual activity, have completed diflucan (fluconazole) (2 pills) last week. Calling as doc in am, what treats?

Odd: If sex partner the same and vaginal infections not prevalent before humira, (adalimumab) then Humira (adalimumab) may be the cause. However, may not be yeast but bacterial vaginosis instead. Yeast usually suppressed by the natural bacteria in the vagina which keep the ph low. Need gyn exam to determine precise cause to get correct treatment. Not to worry if Humira (adalimumab) the problem as there are other drugs nearly identical. ...Read more

I have a systemic yeast infection and I was wondering what drinks I can drink? Foods?

What?: What is a systemic yeast infection? Are you talking about those books from the 1970s saying "yeast" was the cause of every symptom imaginable? The majority of well done studies have ruled out that theory of causation. Is there another syndrome you're talking about. ...Read more

I just wanted to know can untreated vaginal yeast infection lead to a systemic yeast infection?

I just wanted to know can untreated vaginal yeast infection lead to a systemic yeast infection?

Urban myth: "Systemic yeast" (or systemic candidiasis) is an urban myth. There is no such thing. Vaginal yeast infections are easily treated, and if you think you have one, see your doctor -- or maybe try one of the many over-the-counter treatments. But if for some reason you don't get treated, you won't have any health problems except for genital itching, irritation, etc. ...Read more

Discharge too?: Typically a vaginal yeast infection is associated with a somewhat thicker, white, clumpy discharge and itching/ redness on the outside and inside areas. Hello. I have had swelling on one side of my vagina for three days now. I'm not too positive if its just from a yeast infection or if its more severe.

Genital swelling: Yeast infection wouldn't usually cause one sided genital symptoms. If the swelling is painful, and especially if there are open sores, herpes is likely. See a doctor ASAP -- the sooner the better for accurate diagnosis. Also, if it's herpes, treatment effectiveness depends on starting treatment right away. Good luck! ...Read more
