Which of these has nightmares as a side effect? Oxycodone, percocet, celecoxib, or diazepam (valium)?

Which of these has nightmares as a side effect? Oxycodone, percocet, celecoxib, or diazepam (valium)?

Hard to Say: Side effects of most medications are turning out to be highly individualistic and sometimes based upon genetic susceptibility! This is fairly new research. But, it suggests that any specific side effect is not necessarily going to happen to you.

That said, with the exception of celecoxib, these drugs are narcotics and/or sedative/hypnotics and can cause "dysphoric" feelings and hallucinations. ...Read more

Can Flagyl cause hypertonicity & limbs/face numbness as side effect? Was also taking Percocet, benedryl, phenergan, (promethazine) synthroid, & klonopin w/no issue.

Can Flagyl cause hypertonicity & limbs/face numbness as side effect? Was also taking Percocet, benedryl, phenergan, (promethazine) synthroid, & klonopin w/no issue.

Rule out alcohol: Flagyl can cause a build up of a toxic substance if taken with alcohol. The alcohol can be consumed or can be assimilated by hand washes, mouth washes, etc. The toxic build up would be my first guess as to the reason for the side effects noted. With a pharmacist or online you can search for known side effects of Flagyl (metronidazole). ...Read more

Took Percocet for one after surgery and took my last dose last night. This morning I am feeling "foggy" and a little lightheaded. Is this normal?

Took Percocet for one after surgery and took my last dose last night. This morning I am feeling "foggy" and a little lightheaded. Is this normal?

Take care with opiod: Oxycodone and acetaminophen (Percocet) is a very powerful medication and you should take great care when taking it. I would not drive or do anything physically where you may fall when you feel like this. Call your doctor and communicate with him/her about how you are affected by Percocet. If your pain is well controlled, you may be able to step down to a less powerful narcotic or non-narcotic med. ...Read more

Took first dose of methadone 25mg 6 hrs ago and feeling little sleepy. Should I wait with going to sleep until it passes? Switched from percocet for pai

That's a lot!: I would normally start my Methadone patients on no more than 2.5mg at a time repeated maybe every 4 to 6 hours. The problem is that Methadone has a lot of metabolites that accumulate slowly that will eventually add up and possibly kill you if you if you keep taking that high of a dose. Talk to your dr. About a slower start up of this medication and don't take any more until then. Avoid other meds. ...Read more

Many and varied: The most common side effects of oxycodone are constipation, sedation, sweating, edema and weight gain, but these are with regular (and often excessive) use. In high doses, it can cause respiratory depression and death. Regular use results in physical dependency, and with this can come abuse and addiction. Please answer! What kinds of side effects will be faced, if we take this percocet medicine with other drug medications.?

Pharmacist: That is a good question for the doc who prescribed it for you and the pharmacist who filled it. I would assume that you are having pain. Percocet is for moderate to severe pain when over the counter meds and rx anti-inflammatories are not effective. Percocet can interact with other meds that work centrally on the brain such as antidepressants and anxiety meds. Discuss with your pcp. ...Read more

Most common side effects of oxycodone (percocet) to relieve pains?

Most common side effects of oxycodone (percocet) to relieve pains?

See answer below: Constipation is going to be a big one. Dependence is another. Pain is a common part of life, and taking it away completely with oxycodone lowers the pain threshold which ultimately makes people feel more vulnerable and less tolerant to common, nonpathologic pains and aches. I would be very careful not to use oxycodone for chronic pain as other alternatives are better fitted for this purpose. ...Read more

Why are you taking an opioid which is also a CNS depressant? How close if not together re perc's and alcohol? Not enough info! ...Read more

How do if u are allergic to percocet? I feel like burning up and sweating, itching everywhere, sob and can't focus

Histamine & narcotic: Narcotics have the general ability to directly stimulate mast cells to release histamine. Therefore many people who take them experience itching, hives, tight chests and warmth. Narcotics also have potent effects on the brain. Not thinking straight is normal while taking them. That's why you shouldn't drive etc. Tylenol (acetaminophen) resets your thermostat & makes your body think it is too hot, so you sweat. ...Read more
