Is A Female Fetus Labia Checked In Sonogram
Endometrial thickness is 8mm.myometrial cyst or sac like area in the body region measuring 8X7mm.will this be for a woman who is sexually inactive?
An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more

Is a small gestational sac in relation to the fetus a sign of a chromosomal abnormality. Fetus 9w sac 7w. Doctor and research have me very worried.
Hard to answer...: At such an early stage, imaging and interpretation is hard. There are associations between size and abnormalities. But it is impossible to look at a minimally smaller size and conclude anything, especially chromosomal disorders. It is best not to worry, but follow this serially and monitor progress. Your OB is the best judge of this and should advice you of intervention if at all needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How accurate is an abdominal ultrasound at 10-11 weeks pregnant? Is there a difference in accuracy of vaginal or abdominal at this stage in pregnancy?
Very accurate: Goose: the transabdominal ultrasound is very accurate at that gestational age. The transvaginal is typically done early on in pregnancy to better see the fetal pole and heartbeat. By 10-11 weeks, the pole should be easily seen transabdominally and there should definitely be a heartbeat. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My wife has gone a baseline scan as we are doing family planning and a fibroid of 4cms in diameter is detected in uterus. Hw to get rid of it.
It depends on: Where the fibroid is located. If it is on the outside layer of the uterus, you may not need to do anything. If it is within the uterine cavity, then she can speak with her gyn about either leaving it alone and trying to conceive first to see what happens, or surgically remove it first. It can also be shrunken hormonally by ~30-50% if you can wait 3 to 6 months before trying to conceive. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
During my pregnancy, ultrasound found a 3 CM cyst with calcified walls on my spleen. Is this dangerous? How reliable is us in this case?
For a pregnant women doing the 18 to 20 week fetal survey, is it normal for both a transabdominal and a transvaginal ultrasound to be performed?
If a Gestational sac is in the uterus is it possible to be an ectopic pregnancy? Or is a tubal pregnancy ruled out.
Unlikely but possibl: Heterotopic pregnancies (one "inside" one "outside") are uncommon but can happen. They are more common with assisted reproduction vs. natural, but can happen either way. The risk is not statistically higher than 1 in 100 and is usually much lower. Keep an eye on things but it's not likely for ectopic. Good wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Ultrasound (US): Although MR is fantastic in many ways, US is quick, cheap, and far easier and portable. You can evaluate blood flow. Also, especially for very small structures, ultrasound provides better spatial and temporal resolution. However US is very operator dependent and images a very small field of view. Both are very complimentary with MR being more to assess complex cases ...Read more
0.5-1% Pregnancies: Kidney dilation (hydronephrosis, renal pyelectasis) is a common us finding noted in up to 1% of pregnancies. I am a 24 year old female, i was masturbating and felt the lower labia majora. A bit swollen and hard to touch. Never happened before. What is this?
Irritation: You probably irritated the area and caused an inflammatory reaction. Depending on what you masturbated with, you may have irritated the area and or even caused an allergic reaction if you masturbated with something different that you may have been allergic to. Rest the area for a few days and try tatking Ibuprofen (if you're not allergic to it). If it does not get better, see a gyn dr. ...Read more
Hi I am a 24 year old female i was masturbating and felt the lower labia majora a bit swollen and hard to touch when i pushed down on it i had never felt that before?
See your GYN: There are a variety of things that can make the labia majora feel "a bit swollen.' some possibilities are: a pimple; a carbuncle(boil); in-grown hair. It is difficult to figure-out what is there so it would be best for you to be examined by a gyn so that she/he may be able to tell you what it is. ...Read more

Bumps on the inside of the labia minora they don't itch my obgyn checked them and said it's normal. Is it normal to have bumps?
Needs an exam: Without an examination there is no good way to answer this. Often i find patients who come in with these kinds of concerns usually have totally normal anatomy. I have found a small lump in my labia majora a few days ago you can't see it but you can feel it. What could it be? Should I get it checked out?
I feel pain around my vulva so I checked it and saw that there at least 5 white pimple-like structures all over my labia. Is this a serious condition?
Probably not: Diagnosis of rashes requires a physical exam by a doctor. Many things can cause genital rashes. They include: viral infections such as herpes, molluscum, genital warts, hiv; non-viral infections such as candida, bacterial vaginosis, syphilis; allergic reactions. The molluscum virus most closely matches your rash and is passed by skin to skin contact among young adults. See your doctor. ...Read more
I'm a 22 y/o female, and i masturbated from the age of 5 till 12, my labia minora are bigger than my labia majora now and i'm so embarrassed! please help?
Not related: While it is possible to elongate the labia, it usually requires intentional and prolonged stretching, a practice performed in some parts of africa. However, it is unlikely to be caused by masturbation and there is no reason to feel embarrassed about it. Labia protruding beyond the labia majora is quite common and not a reason for concern. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am 17 female and my external genitals (labia maybe) has been itchy for a long time especially at night. I never had sex or anything what could it be?
Im a female and I'm 16 years old. Is it normal to have really large labia? It has always been that way since puberty.
Many variations: The hormones of puberty effect people differently based on an interplay of genetic factors. The labia minora can vary from tucked in small to elephant ear large. They can be equal in size or one side larger than the other. If you find yours difficult to manage for clothing selection or comfort their size can be reduced in a simple procedure by a gynecologist or cosmetic surgeon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
20 year old female I have had a lump on my labia that went away appeared to be a cyst now I have another. Month apart. Thoughts?
What you suspect when a lady 49 nearing menopause has change in skin at junction of two labias with itch and minute sores, anti fungal does not help?
A few possibilities: If you have already tried antifungals (which is a great first try!), then i'm wondering if this may be thinning of your vulvar tissue from waning hormone levels. The sores could be mild atrophy combined with normal sex - be sure to use a lubricant! the itching still bothers me, so that may just be the healing process. The most i would suggest would be otc Hydrocortisone cream to ease irritation. ...Read more
