Is A Bald Spot On Back Of Head Normal
4 y/o with bald spot on back of head. Scalp seems normal no itching at all but getting bigger. Causes? Pediatrician or Dermatology visit in order?
Bald spot: Many possible causes including simply being on his/her back too much. I would advise seeing the baby's pediatrician first, they should be able to determine the cause and generally you should be able to see your pediatrician a lot sooner than a dermatologist. Good luckSee 1 more doctor answer
Normal Baby: This usually comes from the position they are sleeping in and self corrects with time.See 1 more doctor answer

Sometimes, I will get a sharp pain just to the right of the place on my head where a bald spot would normally be. Should I be worried?
No worries: I don't think you have anything to worry about. There are nerve endings underneath the skin in your entire body. Sometimes, the nerve endings can get excited and sharp pain could result. It is unlikely you have a serious condition but if it becomes really bothersome or more severe I think it would be good to be checked out by a local neurologist.
What causes alopecia? I just found a bald spot in the back of my head that's the size of a half dollar. My brother and neice have alopecia.
Alopecia areata: Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune means that the body's immune system attacks the body. When alopecia areata develops, the body attacks its own hair follicles. A person's genetic makeup, combined with other factors, triggers this form of hair loss. People can have this type of hair loss at any age. Some patients with alopecia areata have a family member who also has the disease.
I have a bald spot on the right side of my head and I was wondering what can I do to get my hair back I'm not for sure how big the spot is? Pls help
Just found a silver dollar sized bald spot on the side of my head. I have long, thick, normal hair. Do not pick, scratch or pull my hair. Freaked out
See doctor: There could be a number of causes for this and a doctor can help with the diagnosis. Alopecia arreata and an infection are possibilities that would benefit from early treatment.

Bald spot in the back of my head I am a 50 year old female with a bald spot the size of a softball in the back of my head that I have had for at least 6 months or more
Hello.: Hello. First, I wanted to advise that I can not diagnose your bald spot. Alopecia areata is a medical condition in which you lose a patch of hair. The hair loss can be on your head, your body, and sometimes there can be a total loss of hair. I recommend that you see a dermatologist who can evaluate the cause of the hair loss and provide you with treatment options. Good luck.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a bald spot on the back-right side of my head, the skin is also numb. What are your thoughts?

Noticed 1 quarter sized bald spot on my head. This is the 3rd time in the past 10 years hair grows back. I only get one bald spot not multiple.
Alopecia Areata: See a dermatologist if you want help. It is an autoimmune condition.
I have a birth mark on the back of my head, but my hair covers it. If I were to get it removed, will I have a bald spot?
Yes, a small one...: About the width of the scar. When a lesion is removed, the surgery approximates the skin margins together so that it heals promptly, but the scar itself will not have hair follicles. Usually hair around it grows and covers the scar, so it is not noticeable unless one's head is shaved. If there is a concern about the birth mark and skin cancer, your life is most important.
26 yo. Tiny bald spot on head (~5 mm) with very slight pinkish hue. Has been there for months. What could be the cause? Will it grow back? Cyst scar?
Bald spot: There are several possible causes of a small bald spot including earlier injury, infection or skin condition. In most cases the hair eventually grows back. Or it might be the first sign of a temporary or permanent hair disorder. If the patch enlarges, see a dermatologist for assessment. Find out more at http://dermnetnz. Org/hair-nails-sweat/hair-loss. My husband developed a small bald spot on the side of his head. The hair recently started growing back white. Does he need to see a doctor?
Alopecia areata: That is the name of the problem. It is an immunological disorder that may recur. It can be treated, often, but not always, successfully. Ask your personal physician for a referral to a dermatologist for treatment
I had a bump on my head 3 weeks ago. I scratched it and peeled the scab. Now I have a bald spot my head. How do I get hair growing back on the spot?
Time and patience.: It sounds as though the hair was traumatically removed with the scab. Since you did not have issues prior the scab, it will simply take time and patience to see the hair regrow. Viviscal is a nice over the counter treatment that may speed up the process of hair regrowth in areas such as yours. If the bald spot starts to enlarge, see a doctor. You may have a condition called alopecia aereata.
Names matt im 19 and worried cause I have a bald spot on the back of my head overnight and been getting dizzy what's rong with me lower back pains
Unrelated: At age 19, sudden development of a bald spot might indicate a local scalp infection, or maybe you have been losing your hair there for a while and only just noticed. This is highly unlikely to relate to feeling dizzy, and that is unlikely to relate to low back pains. For your scalp see a dermatologist. For the other complaints, see you personal physician for reassurance.
Small tender bump on the top of my head that I think I received from hitting it. Now it left a bald spot the size of a dime. Will my hair grow back?
Potentially you will: Not regrow your hair there. It would be appropriate to see a dermatologist for an evaluation of the area as you may not have the diagnosis correct. There are other potentially reversible causes for this kind of hairloss besides trauma.
