Is A Bad Odor Normal After A Colposcopy
I had a colposcopy and 3 biopsy's taken 2 days ago. I have a bad smell and brown discharge with coffee ground type pieces. Is this normal?
I'm still feeling bad 5 days after my colposcopy, biopsy, and cuterage my symptoms are nausea, tired, and sensitive stomach especially after a meal, is this normal?
I'd say see your Dr.: It may be normal to feel nausea and sensitivity after all these procedures, but they should subside after a week or so, and if you don't feel better soon, like in a couple more days or so you should see your doctor soon, to be sure no damage was done during those procedures you had. Follow up with your: physician for specific advice. Many physicans use a solution to coagulate the biopsy sites that resembles coffee grounds when it dissolves. The presence of blood in the vagina raises the ph and can lead to Bacterial vaginosis which is associated with odor. What you describe is not unusual after cervical biopsy. Abnormal clls on PAP: This likely means that there are abnormal cells on your pap smear, and that colposcopy found nothing. But you will need and hopefully got a cervical biopsy during your colposcopy, and another pap next year at the earliest if your biopsy was negative.
