Is 135 Over 85 High Blood Pressure
Elevated Diastolic: The lowest blood pressure that is measured between consecutive heartbeats is known as diastolic blood pressure. The normal diastolic blood pressure is around 80 mm of hg. However, when this pressure increases by even 10 mm of hg, then it is known as diastolic hypertension. This type of hypertension can cause heart disease, like heart attacks, strokes, heart and kidney failure, etc. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. Hypertension can be a result of increased blood flow through vessels or increased resistance to ...Read more

Start BP Journal: Factors play a roll in this. Your diet, your weight, your genetics. Yes that is high for a 19 year old and the sooner you take control of this the better. Why blood pressure fluctuates? At times mine is low 90's over 50's, but also has been 120's over 70's. Heart checked, ok.
Son age 13 sinus bradycardia usually BP 94/60 bmp 58. Now high blood pressure 170/103 BP bpm98 with small amount of blood in stool this morning?
Depends on History: "normal" blood pressure is estimated at 120/80. A blood pressure of 85/60 is a bit low, but its severity depends on any preexisting medical conditions you may have. Diabetic patients or those with a history of heart conditions, for example, usually have a higher baseline blood pressure than people without any medical history. ...Read more
I'm a 40+ yr. type 1 diabetic. Just had blood work w/ albumin 21 and microalbumin 918. HA1C so-so and low blood pressure. Why such a high #?
Diabetes: if DM is not well controlled, could cause kidney to dump the protein in the urine, protein is toxic to the kidney, normal ppl have near zero protein in urine. As the amount of protein increases in the urine the level of protein (Albumin) would decrease because your liver cannot keep up. Get your Diabetes under control, also you might be a candidate for ACE/ARB treatment if your Creat allows that. ...Read more
Yes but...: The diastolic or lower blood pressure number is a bit high. Normally like to see it under 90. However, its naive to focus too much on a single BP number. I liken BP measurements to a polaroid snapshot of life: it gives you a general idea of what's up but not a completely realistic view of what is best thought of as a video. My point? Take more heart in a series of BP measurements. If still high... ...Read more
Im 28 w/extensive blood clot history now high blood pressure wht could cause high BP at my age? Bp meds are not working
Need Workup: Hypertension is often genetic and it is not unusual to develop it under the age of 30. But there are other factors that should be considered. Some kidney diseases can cause blood clots and high blood pressure (lupus is one). Some medications can do the same (oral contraceptives). There are other factors (alcohol, obesity, adrenal disease) and medications that can increase BP without causing clots. ...Read more

Blood pressure very high 200/96 inspite of many tab for bp, blood sugar also high around 260. She has a hb count 8.5 inspite vitcofol 2ml weekly. Help?
Needs urgent care: A BP of 200/96 in someone with heart disease is very dangerous. The blood sugar is also rather high (vitcofol wont help that) but the BP is more dangerous. Causes of resistant hypertension include: 1. Sodium retention - low salt diet and a loop diuretic such as Furosemide can substantially reduce bp 2. High aldosterone levels - spironolactone can block these. Need to see a doctor urgently. ...Read more

Had slightly high, but stable blood pressure for years; suddenly rising despite increase in medication. Also high pulse, often 110 and higher. Causes?
Blood pressure is a measurement of the force placed on the blood vessels and is comprised of the "systolic" pressure (the top number on a blood pressure meter) which is the peak pressure when the heart is pumping, and the "diastolic" pressure (the bottom number on a blood pressure meter) which is the pressure during the resting phase ...Read more
