I have white/red bumps on penile shaft/scrotum. Neg pain/irritation. Started 1 month ago. More appearing last few days. About the size of a pin head.?
I have a bump on my scrotum. Bump is skin colored. 28 hours after possible exposure to std. Is this an ingrown hair or irritation from shaving?
ANy of above: The "bump" could be any of the things you mention, or other things as well. Without looking at the area and getting more history (like what STD may you have been exposed to - something like herpes that gives skin lesions...), then it is really impossible to diagnose. Keep area clean, dry, wear boxers to avoid undue irritation to area, and if not improving or becomes painful, see doc for treatment. Read more
Can you apply 0.5 hydrocotisone to head of penis/scrotum and between buttocks after burning and irritation from using an anti-fungal clotrimazole1%?
Yes: As a follow-up to your previous question and my response, topical steroids come in different strengths and potencies. 0.5% Hydrocortisone is considered a weakly potent topical steroid (class 7) and 0.5% a low strength and available otc. Should apply a thin layer to affected area (s) 2-3x/day. More potent steroids (classes 1-6) require prescriptions and more limited use. Read more
I used Nizoral (ketoconazole) anti dandruff shampoo accidently instead of selsun blue to get rid of skin irriation and it make my scrotum red/dry any suggestions?
Shouldn't cause any: The Nizoral (ketoconazole) should not cause any problems in the scrotal area. The Nizoral (ketoconazole) is an anti-fungal shampoo, so could help with jock itch in the scrotal area. The selsun blue is selenium- more for the scalp dryness and therefore helps the dandruff. I have several very tender knots just above my left pelvis bone. There is no skin irritation. I'm concerned it is swollen lymph node.
Needs medical examin: If you have palpable knots, you should go to your PCP and have a medical examination to check you and to determine what these knots are. Lymph nodes are typically located in the groin areas, not above the hip bones (that sounds more like abdomen or lower back of your torso. A medical check up is recommended soon. Read more
I have some bumps on my penile shaft and scrotum. They look like they have white heads and some of them are just. No pain or irritation?
Probably normal: The penis has sebaceous glands, glands that produce an oily lubricating substance that protects the delicate skin of penis. They are particularly noticeable when you stretch the skin of the penis. These pale, slightly lumpy bumps are a normal part of your anatomy. Don't try to remove them! If you still are concerned, check with your doctor to be sure you don't have genital warts. Read more

Can going "commando", running and frequent masturbation cause scrotum irritation? I feel a pulling sensation in scrotum. Goes away with tight underwar
Jockey underpants: Tight underwear provide nice support for Ur scrotum & should be used if you experience discomfort, or pulling sensation with boxers. So would likely be preferable 4U. You may have a pendulous (hanging) scrotum, which is a normal variant &/or could be traumatizing your scrotum when U masturbate. Try to avoid your hand hitting scrotum when U masturbate. Read more
Red irritation on inner upper thigh close to scrotum smells really bad. I wear under armor boxer briefs for working out.
Sounds like a fungus: They can have a pretty strong odor. Dry warm air, like blow dryer, to the skin there for several minutes at least 2 times a day help prevent the small spores for germinating each day. Topical anti-fungal cream, like Lamisil, (terbinafine) applied after drying. This fungus likes warm moist places. Blow dry throughly and use fungal medication. Good luck. Let me know if doesn't clear. Read more
I often get 1 tiny red bump/irritation in same place on scrotum, seems to occur after masturbating several times in a few days. Could it be an STI?
No sex for 2 yrs, only masturbation. Recently redness/irritation+itchy on underside of penis shaft (between penis & scrotum).Worse after shower/masturb.
Dry skin or tinea.: We cannot make a specific diagnosis without an exam, however, what you describe can be caused by dry skin, allergic dermatitis, or tinea cruris. Start by using a hypoallergenic moisturizer and keeping the area dry between showers. If itchiness persists, try using antifungal cream for jock itch. If this fails, make an appointment for evaluation with a HealthTap doctor. Read more
