Pericoronitis: There is probably not enough room in your jaw for your wisdom tooth. An xray should tell if there is a possibility that it could continue to erupt fully without further complications. At your age, I would expect you will need to have the wisdom tooth extracted in order to fix the problem.

Gum irritation: You MAY have an infection or MAY be brushing your teeth or flossing to the point of irritating your gum. Please see your dentist. Peace and good health.

See DDS first: Have your dentist evaluate the area. May be as simple as a pizza burn. If the dentist feels it is warranted, you may be referred to a periodontist for a consultation.

Today I had dental work done and the gums near my tooth r sore and irritated. I feel pain radiating in teeth on that side. Can that also be from gums?

Today I had dental work done and the gums near my tooth r sore and irritated. I feel pain radiating in teeth on that side. Can that also be from gums?

Yes: It's not uncommon to have some soreness after dental treatment. Obviously it depends upon what the actual treatment was. It should get better within a couple of days. It is always best to speak to the dentist who actually performed the treatment concerning what to expect and for how long afterwards.

Lump on left jaw line, maybe half a grape size, my wisdom tooth is shifting, my gums are irritated. Just wondering if its a lymph node or something bad?

Lump on left jaw line, maybe half a grape size, my wisdom tooth is shifting, my gums are irritated. Just wondering if its a lymph node or something bad?

Lumps: "lumps" are abnormal and suggest something is wrong. A swollen lymph node should not be taken lightly. What you describe can be a localized infection, an infected lymph node, a growth or something else. One can have more than one problem at a time. It behooves you to see a dentist to determine what's going on and prevent an even more serious problem!

Gums irritated day 2-3 after wisdom teeth extraction. Is this normal?

Gums irritated day 2-3 after wisdom teeth extraction. Is this normal?

Yes: It is not unusual to have some facial swelling for the first 2-3 days after surgery. The gum tissue overlying and adjacent to the extraction sites may also sometimes have some irritation during that time as well. Keep the extraction sites clean by following the postoperative instructions provided by your surgeon.

I have a deep pain from 1 or 2 teeth and/or gums on bottom. My dentist says it's irritated gum. He said there were no indication of abcess or infection and that teeth appear normal. What is problem?

I have a deep pain from 1 or 2 teeth and/or gums on bottom. My dentist says it's irritated gum. He said there were no indication of abcess or infection and that teeth appear normal. What is problem?

Deep pain: Deep pain can be caused by a number of things, including your bite, bone loss, a necrotic nerve, and sometimes a fracture Since these things cannot be diagnosed over the internet, you will need to seek a second opinion from another local dentist (or even a specialist) to get to the "root" of your problem. All the best...

See an Oral Surgeon: There are a number of possibilities. Periodontal abscess would top the list. The tooth in front may have an abscessed pulp and need a root canal. You need to see a dentist or oral surgeon for examination and diagnosis.

I had veneers placed on 10 teeth in february. Since then I have been suffering with dry mouth, burning tongue, irritated gums. I have deep cracks in my tongue. Could I be allergic to the veneers?

Meds and lip drape: Your meds may be a significant contributor to dry mouth. Also it is not inconceivable that your lip drape over your new veneers may have changed making it harder to close your lips. When you relax or sleep your lips may now be slightly parted causing mouth breathing and drying of the tissues. Combined with the side effect of the medications it can become severe.

There's a lot of white tissue 2day after an extraction where the tooth was removed in 3 pieces. Gum also feel inflamed&a bit painful. Is it notmal?

There's a lot of white tissue 2day after an extraction where the tooth was removed in 3 pieces. Gum also feel inflamed&a bit painful. Is it notmal?

Probably.: Tissue over a healing extraction site can often be white or yellow; (this part is the equivalent of a "scab" on healing skin). Keep it clean, leave it alone, follow directions from you provider (following up as needed) and it will continue to heal.

Canker sore: Is the most common oral lesions. Most ulcers, infections will clear up by themselves within a week or two. You should see your GP or dentist if the ulcer gets worse or lasts for longer than 2 weeks.

Dr: Dr funari has given you good advice. Your dental restorations should be evaluated, and your dentist is the one who can do that. Your problem may be solved simply by having a cleaning, or, if the crown has decay along it's edge, you may need to have it replaced.

Please help! I'm having painful lump/cut under tooth in gum?

Painful Lump: See your dentist asap as this sounds like a tooth that is abscessing; you do not want to leave an infection untreated. It can be easily treated with a root canal. If your dentist determines that it is not tooth related then referral to a specialist is in order.
