Really Late case...: of PMS! Even PMS can forget what time it is and miss the train! LOL....nah, probably not...but wouldn't it be nice if PMS would just ONCE in awhile FORGET what time of the month it was? It has the hormone Progesterone in it. That decreases most women's periods to 2 days or less of bleeding. Some women even stop having a period. Consider exam/test: Especially if you've not had stress impact your cycle before, it may be good to have an exam. It may help get Tx for the IBS too. If you did not have unprotetced sex near ovulation, that's less likely, but good to know. Consider CBT to learn ways to deal w/ stress, etc. Best! ...Read more

Hormonal imbalacne: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

Once you hit the: 3 month mark with absence of period - it is best to get evaluated by your gynecologist. Please let your psychiatrist know right away that you are a lot more symptomatic. Your medications may need to be titrated. If you aren't in talking therapy recommend that. Acupuncture can be very helpful in reducing that irritability. I am a psychiatrist and I use acupuncture successfully in this setting. ...Read more

Options: Nsaid’s, ssri’s, hormone meds, otc meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise ; acupuncture are excellent for pms / period. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol ; salt. Get gyn eval to r/o underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or black cohosh with dr ok. Sipping chamomile ; green tea can dissipate pain. Very unlikely: As long as there is a uterus and ovaries are present, it's technically possible to be pregnant, but without Fallopian tubes it's extremely unlikely. The 'symptoms of pregnancy' are due to hormonal changes. Lots of things can cause hormonal changes besides pregnancy. But if you want to completely rule out pregnancy, a urine test is easy to get, not very expensive, and quite accurate. ...Read more
