Urethral stricture?: It sounds like you might have a urethral stricture, which on rare occasions might result from infection or irritation from a catheter. Have a week urinary stream sometimes, usually middle of night. I have urinated frequently all my life. On a muscle relaxer but noticed here and there before, but believe I was on prednisone when it happened before. Hope it’s not prostate related?
Doctor can evaluate: It is not normal to "urinate frequently all my life." It's also not normal to have a weak urine stream. One's doctor can evaluate to see if there is a blockage. It would be more reassuring if such a patient had gotten ultrasound and x-ray studies when younger (as in childhood), to make sure he was not born with a partial blockage in his urinary system. ...Read more

How long would a person need to have a urinary tract infection before the infection spread to their blood stream?
Varies: That's a tough question to answer because everyone is different. An untreated UTI can ascend the ureters and involved the kidneys (pyelonephritis). This untreated can lead to sepsis (infection spread into blood). Timing can depend on many things such as anatomy, organisms involved as well as time that antibiotics are initiated. ...Read more

Blad nck hypertrophy: Prostatitis is typically characterized by irritative voiding symptoms (yours are obstructive voiding symptoms) and pain. I am a 23 year old female. I was wondering if it was normal for my urine stream to be very strong?
Not necessarily: As long as you have no burning when urinating or have red color (blood?) or other dark color or frequency of urination I see no need to be overly concerned. If you do have any of the above, make an appointment with your family physician. If by "strong" you mean malodorous it could be from the food you eat like asparagus. ...Read more
