My baby is 7mnths, im breastfeeding, having irregular periods, and i wish to get pregnant asap.Does breastfeeding cause irregular period? Wat can I do?
Yes, but normal: Breastfeeding can suppress ovulation, causing irregular or no periods while breastfeeding. This will make it harder to get pregnant. The less you breastfeed your baby, the more likely your periods and fertility will return to normal. However the breastmilk that your baby is getting is the best nutrition for him, so i would recommend you keep breastfeeding. ...Read more
Irregular periods > 1 year, orange nipple discharge 6mos, &self-diagnosed fibrocystic breasts 6mos. Quit breastfeeding 1.5 yrs ago. What's happening?

Very irregular periods all my life. still breastfeeding 16month daughter. I have waves of nausea all day and a headache for hrs. no period for 2 m?
Check a test: Unless you are exclusively breast feeding and not even using a pacifier, breastfeeding is not a good method of contraception. Start with a pregnancy test and if it is negative repeat it in 3-5 days. If it is still negative the headaches and nausea need to be evaluated since they could be caused by an infection or increased intracranial pressure. Hope you feel better fast. ...Read more
Irregular period late 15 days, i had un protected sex but I am breast feeding , my pregnancy test is -ve . Is that normal ? Am i ovulating or not yet
Probably OK.: You had your period and your test was negative, so it seems normal so far. You are breastfeeding, and this might help avoid/stop another immediate pregnancy. This also means you're likely not ovulating due to breastfeeding but this is not reliable contraception, and you might have started ovulating again as shown by your period. Talk to your doctor about using contraception during breastfedding. ...Read more
Will my wife's periods not become consistent until she stops breastfeeding? Trying for #2 and it's hard since her cycles have been irregular. They seem to be around 30-40 days. Ovul. kits don't work.
Breast feed & preg: very difficult to figure out. when is best time in this situation. Breastfeeding naturally supresses ovulation that is probably why the ovulation kits are not working if she is still breastfeeding. I would continue to try, and enjoy the trying. Try not to get too stressed about it. That also makes it tougher to conceive. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
