10 yr bc survivor . Cxr showed a solid nodule in lung, or in chest wall. What's the difference of lung and chest wall? Scar tissue fm mastectomy ?

Need Further Work-Up: The chest wall refers to the ribcage and muscles that cover them; the lungs are within the rib cage. A solid nodule in either location, especially if it is new, requires further testing & possible biopsy to determine if it is cancerous or scar tissue; this should begin with a (pet) ct to determine exactly where this nodule is. ...Read more

Thyroid u/s finding suspicious for malignancy with small flecks of calcification in irregular hypoechoic solid nodule but 3 biopsies are benign

Thyroid u/s finding suspicious for malignancy with small flecks of calcification in irregular hypoechoic solid nodule but 3 biopsies are benign

"Suspicious": doesn't mean there is cancer, it only means there is some probability of cancer, which could be as low as 10%. Biopsy is the gold standard. If the biopsy is negative and shows a specific benign process that accounts for the nodule(concordant), then it is likely not cancer. ...Read more

Needle or watch: If it was me, I'd watch it. Teen cancer doesn't present like this. Hodgkin's would be growing rapidly or you'd be sick. The other option if it's cystic or you're simply very anxious is to have it fine-needled. It's your call with your physician. You'd be amazed how many of your fellow teens have the same thing. ...Read more

GGO can be seen with lymphatic involvement as is suggested by the enlarged lymph nodes described. This can be from infection, cancer or autoimmune diseases such as sarcoidosis and even heart failure. A biopsy of an enlarged lymph node may be required. ...Read more

Chest X-ray results say curvilinear density in the R pericardial region. Could represent fat pad or small R middle lobe infiltrate. Lung cancer?

It is unlikely: that it is cancer, but it still may require further evaluation with a CT scan to be sure.
