I was having sex with my husband and he hit my cervix so hard the shape feels different when I checked myself like it's faced down happened 3 yrs ago?

Unlikely due to sex: It is not clear what you mean by shape feels different or faced down, but it is not likely that the shape or position of cervix would get affected by being hit with a penis, no matter how hard. ...Read more

Hard to say: An experienced perinatologist would always want to see images or to at least know the sonographer or sonologist who did the ultrasound study. Therefore, we cannot provide an answer for you here. However, if you are already considered high risk due to short cervix and/or history of preterm labor or birth, you are probably in the care of OB or mfm (maternal-fetal medicine) and could contact them. ...Read more

Hello, I have been experiencing irregular bleeding for about three months and just discovered bumps on my cervix. Had normal pap 1 month ago. I'm rather confused.

Cervical bumps: It is really hard to get a good look at your own cervix or even to feel it in way that provides meaningful information.
If your cycles are not right and your cervix feels different to you (actually either one!) you should see a doctor who can help you figure out what, if anything, is wrong. ...Read more

I have irregular bleeding, pain an bleeding during sex and today when I had a smear test I bled when the nurse touched my cervix do I have cancer?

No necessarily.: Your symptoms can be caused by many other benign conditions. The pap smear was the right first step to as part of your work up. Most patients with cervical cancer will have an abnormal pap smear which should then be followed up with a colposcopy examination of the cervix with biopsies. Cervical cancer or pre cancerous condition known as dysplasia can be diagnosed by colposcopy. ...Read more

I'm ttc irregular period so I'm observing my cervix for ov we had sex from start to end had spotting right after sex what can cause this

Multiple reasons: This can be caused by multiple things. Lower hormones can cause bleeding, irritation or infection of the cervix, pre-cancerous cells on the cervix (unlikely if your papsmears are normal). If your periods are irregular that could be the cause in and of itself. Would definitely recommend a full fertility evaluation. The irregular periods could be a sign of menopause coming. ...Read more

Irregular cycles ovulation occurred round the 14/4/15 had really bad back ache pressure in cervix test negative am I pregnant or testing too early?

Irregular cycles ovulation occurred round the 14/4/15 had really bad back ache pressure in cervix test negative am I pregnant or testing too early?

Can retest next week: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more

Hi - my wife has a lot of irregular cervix cells and will likely do LEED. Should I get the HPV vaccine? I have had genital warts on/off for a year

Bit late for that: The vaccine has no value in treating HPV.Once you have a strain of HPV it is with you for life. You both may share several. The vaccine could protect you both from a few new strains, but if you are in a monogamous relationship I wouldn't bother. The approved age range is 9-26, which is the only group insurers will pay for. Your out of pocket cost would run >$200/dose for 3 dose set. ...Read more

I have been having irregular bleeding (between periods and after intercourse), painful intercourse, foul watery discharge and cervix bleeds when touched for more than 2 years, haven't had a pap smear in 6 and a half years. Could it be cervical cancer?

I have been having irregular bleeding (between periods and after intercourse), painful intercourse, foul watery discharge and cervix bleeds when touched for more than 2 years, haven't had a pap smear in 6 and a half years. Could it be cervical cancer?

Yes, must be checked: Women who are sexually active cannot go 6 years between Pap smears and Gyn exams. Nor can they wait 2 years while having foul vaginal discharge. Cancer is a possibility, and the most serious one. A doctor's evaluation is needed this week. That means not waiting until next week. Friends and family members should be able to help, if financial or transportation help is needed. ...Read more

Irregular contractions and Braxton hicks at 28 weeks, with a soft and squishy cervix. Is this concerning? Was told just to take it easy.

Two tests: There are two tests that can be done to confirm that these contractions are not concerning. 1. A Fetalfibronectin (FFN). This is a simple Qtip test that can be done in the doctor's office. A negative result is a good result. 2. A sonographic cervical length measurement. The longer the cervix the better. Ask your doctor if these tests would be helpful in your care ...Read more

Twins pregancy at 22 weeks with cervix lenght of 2.2 cm and U Shape. What are the odd of miscarriage before 34 weeks and advises?

Odds are hard to get: Twin pregnancies always carry a risk of preterm labor and premature delivery which has been very difficult to estimate despite research on cervical length, uterine contraction monitoring, measurements of cervical f-fibronectin etc... Studies on prophylactic measures like bed rest, cervical cerclage, progesterone supplementation are also controversial. Consult a MFM doctor, specialist in twins. ...Read more

My cervix is low & the opening is pointed towards my bum. Ttc for 3 years but no luck! Could something be wrong with the shape of my uterus?

Go see ReproEndo: If no baby after 12 months of actively trying to conceive, it's time to go see your reproductive endocrinologist (your partner needs sperm analysis). In the meantime, go see your family doc for preconception counseling & start taking prenatal vitamins to lower risk for neural tube defects: spine forms before you know you're pregnant so you need extra folate (folic acid) if you're trying now. ...Read more

35 weeks. Lost some mucus. 2cm dilated with "paper thin" cervix. Irregular contractions. Getting charlie horse pains in my hips. How much longer?

Good question: If this is your first pregnancy maybe only days but could be weeks yet, if this is your 2nd + pregnancy, then there is really no way to guess but probably a couple + weeks. It depends partly on your previous history. Sorry, we do not have a a functioning fortune teller's device. :) ...Read more

I'm having ceRvix pain, could it Be dilating?

Pregnant?: If you are pregnant and at full-term then that is certainly possible. If you are pregnant but not due to deliver yet, then please call your OB/GYN to let them know you have cervical pain. If you have discharge and fever then it could be an infection and that needs to be checked as well. If you are not pregnant then dilation is not likely and infection is much more likely. ...Read more
