Your best source of iron if you do not supplement is meat and liver. What are some foods that are iron-rich?

Beans are quite a good source; iron in spinach is unavailable because it's bound to substances. I'd urge non-meat-eaters to consider supplementing. Read more

My iron is 9 and I eat a lot of iron rich foods but its not working I don't take pill because they make me sick. What can I do I give birth in a couple?

Low iron: Make sure that when you eat your iron rich foods you are not eating dairy a the same time - it inhibits absorption of the iron. Drinking citrus juice (such as orange juice) enhances absorption. Also, try the oral iron in tinier doses - beak the pill in half and do that twice a day and see if you can tolerate that. Continue with your prenatals as well. Read more
