My recent blood test showed a high level of iron in my blood (223) and a saturation% of 65. Can this contribute to depression symptoms?

Yes: Hemochromatosis, if this is what you have, is famous for impairing anterior pituitary function. Depression may coexist, or depression may be the sole problem and the elevated iron due to your perhaps having taken a few iron-rich nutritional supplement pills recently, or the poor physical and mental function from hypopituitarism may have been called depression, or you may have something else. ...Read more

My dr. Ordered a blood test to check my iron , due to symptoms i'm having ... They called told me my iron is low . Do I have anemia? Tibc 471 sat.12%

Probably: You're anemic if and only if your hemoglobin / hematocrit are low, but these labs are very suggestive of being iron deficient whether or not you are anemic from it yet. You'll want to search with your physician for the underlying cause, especially ruling out blood loss from undiagnosed disease. ...Read more

Is it possible to have normal blood levels but have every symptom of severe iron deficiency anemia?

Is it possible to have normal blood levels but have every symptom of severe iron deficiency anemia?

Probably not anemia: "Normal blood levels" (e.g. hematocrit, hemoglobin, or iron testing) prove iron deficiency isn't the problem. The symptoms of "severe iron deficiency anemia" are exactly the same for many other health problems. See your doctor to learn the cause. ...Read more

7year old son blood test. WCC 11.8 platelets 421 and Abs Neutrophils 7.5. No symptoms just a routine blood tests while checking iron levels. ?

Unclear question: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, there is nothing to be concerned about in the information you provided. The platelet count is high, but that in itself is not a bid deal. ...Read more

Red blood cells count RBC 5.5 ..but I have symptoms like anemia..hair loss ,fatigue, shortness of b, when take iron supp gets better.should stop tak?

Need examination: All the symptoms you mention can also refer to a person suffering from an anxiety disorder and they too would have an RBC of 5.5. Thyroid disease can give the same symptoms with an RBC of 5.5. You need to be examined and appropriate tests must be performed before deciding whether iron is an appropriate intervention. Blood results come back ANA 640h, lymphocytecount 1.3 and iron 4, symptoms hand and arms weakness and joint pain, tired all the time.

More than one issue: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, you seem to have more than one issue. One being deficiency of iron that is easily correctable with oral iron.
