It is a US finding, that if coupled with vaginal bleeding, can potentially increase the risk of miscarriage/preterm delivery, but w/out vaginal bleeding, it's hard to say. Not necessarily: If she does truly have strep, Zithromax is a fine treatment. If she sounds croupy, then croup is a virus and there is no specific treatment.
