Have mild lupus.Urine dip showed moderate blood.Otherwise normal.I have also very well controlled interstitial cystitis.Should assume it's from the IC?
Pbs is also called interstitial cystitis (ic). It is a chronic condition of the bladder that causes pain in the pelvis and low abdomen. The exact cause is unknown but seems to have some correlation with endometriosis and is more common in women. There is a lot of research by urogynecology and urology trying to better understand what causes it and how to treat it. Diet has ...Read more
There is controversy over if Interstitial Cystitis considered an autoimmune disease, or could it be part of a Lupus flare? Lupus causes inflamation.
IC and Lupus: IC (Interstitial Cystitis) is inflammation of the Bladder Wall that can occur by itself or in conjunction with other autoimmune diseases, including Lupus, fibromyalgia, scleroderma, and Sjogren's Syndrome. Absolutely: Also consider casein free (avoid cow dairy). Must go gluten free for at least 3-6 months for an adequate trial. Casein can cross react and look like gluten. Celiac testing is not accurate. Consider probiotics such as kombucha and kefir (water or goats milk). Can make both yourself at home. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

When my hubby ejucalates inside me his semen stings. I do have interstitial cystitis, pelvic floor dysfunction. I'm thinking I have vulvodynia. Why?
Pelvic Girdle Pain: 40's female with pelvic pain at intercourse likely has referred pain from sacroiliac joints strained by leveraging forces from femur shifted forcefully into abduction ; external rotation. Yes: If you have vulvodynia, I am not surprised that you have clitoral pain. They are related. Have you tried physical therapy for vulvodynia and chronic pelvic pain. If you find the right person, it can be very effective. Seeing a good counselor and addressing any previous history of emotional or physical trauma could be very beneficial. For interstitial cystitis you might want to try a gluten free diet for 30 days. ...Read more
