Not really: External hemorrhoids usually dont cause back pain. Internal ones unless they are causing bowel obstruction do not hurt also. Im sure some preporation h can help. Hemorrhoids: The best treatment for internal hemorrhoids is to drink a whole lot of water and to take a fiber supplement with every meal. It is difficult for most people to consume high-fiber diet therefore just taking a fiber supplement with every meal should keep your stools extremely soft. Depends: I would need to know more about your hx, and what exactly was done during the rectal exam. If you had invasive type of procedure--lower GI series where a barium enema is introduced into anus--or a flexible sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy--then cramping or bloating are to be expected for 4-24 hrs. Bloating/ gas/ pain: May be food intolerances, record what occurs when eat dairy, gluten soy, or try no dairy x 1 wk ,then no gluten x 1 week then no soy x 1 week, Constipation-even w/ BM can cause pain and gas, try Gas-x 1 before meals & milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) 1 tablespoon 2x/day x 4, Check stool guiac, reflux , h pylori, vaginitis ( mycoplasma even w/o sex), and ultrasound of gallbladder/ ovaries. f/u w/doc ...Read more
