I've been stabbing chest pain for about a month now, what could be causing my chest pain?

Muscular: The most likely cause is muscular pain or arthritis in your neck, back or shoulder but evaluation with a chest x-ray and stress test would be reassuring.

A lot of sharp stabbing chest pain for 2 days. Is this caused by one of my other conditions or do I need to worry about it being something else?

A lot of sharp stabbing chest pain for 2 days. Is this caused by one of my other conditions or do I need to worry about it being something else?

Panic Disorder: In an nineteen year old female this is almost always likely to be stress and fatigue or anxiety. But, if you really do have gerd (not usual in young females) then that can also be part of the problem as well.

Chest pain on left side for about a week especially when I move around and stretch a stabbing pain?

Chest pain on left side for about a week especially when I move around and stretch a stabbing pain?

Musculoskeletal: You are a young man and unless you have significant cardiovascular congenital history (being born with structural anomalies) or family history it would be rare for this to be coming from your heart. This sounds more likely as musculoskeletal. In cases of MSK pain NSAIDs are usually prescribed. Maybe you exercised in a wrong way, slept in a bad position. Forgive typos. Hope you feel better

I'm 22 and have been having upper back and chest pain for the last 3 days. Sometimes dull, others stabbing. What could be wrong?

Usually not serious: There are many causes of chest and back pain including muscular and bone as well as abnormalities of the heart, lungs or esophagus. Although in a 22 yo, most chest pain turns out not to be anything serious, you should see your primary physician to be sure.

I'm 39in yr old female w stabbing chest pain but all my tests came back normal what could this be?

Pleurisy: Sometimes inflammation of the chest wall lining can cause this symptom and yet all tests can be normal. The most frequent cause of these pains is from the nerves in the chest wall. Even though the pain is alarming, it is a benign condition.

Sharp stabbing chest pain when I cough after having bronchitis- what causes this? It feels like a knife

Sharp stabbing chest pain when I cough after having bronchitis- what causes this? It feels like a knife

Inflammation: The tissues lining the bronchi (tubes leading from the trachea into the lung in smaller and smaller radicals) are grossly inflamed by the infection, or if caused by toxic materials by them, and pain is one of the cardinal signs of inflammation. When you cough you place pressure on inflamed tissues and therefore. ........................ OK?

For the past 5 days I've had this stabbing pain about every hour on my left side on my ribs. I also had chest pain but that has gone away.

Pain in left ribs: Unless you have known heart disease, this is usually not a matter for concern. Rib pain is commonly due to an inflamed rib, medically called costo-chondritis. It may also be due to : stress, or a pulled muscle, or gastric reflux. Occasionally it can be due to a heart problem, but your description does not suggest that possibility.

Get it checked: Chest pain at your age may not suggest heart attack. But it can be due to pain in chest wall or from the lungs and pleura.I suggest you get it checked by your doctor

What could chest pain this be? My chest has been hurting like in the middle and it is worse when I breath. It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it feels like something is twisting and other times it feel like someone is stabbing me in the chest. I hav

Hello.: Hello. Don't know how old you are. I can't diagnose this pain. If it is near the bone in the middle of the chest (or the ribs nearby) it might be costochrondritis. This is inflammation of the cartilage that is along the ribs, especially where the ribcage meets the breast bone. It can be worse with certain movements or taking breaths. With that said, I don't know the actual cause for your discomfort. If it doesn't seem to be going away, ask your parents to take you in to see your pediatrician. Take care.

I am experiencing chest pain or discomfort (feels sharp or stabbing) (worsened by: sudden movements, laying down, sitting up) What could be the cause!

Since: Movement seems to aggravate it COSTOCHONDRITIS an inflammation of the tiny cartilages which allow the chest to expand (they are located between the sternum (breastbone) and your ribs...is a possible Diagnosis! You need a "hands on" exam with your PCP as soon as practicable to make an accurate diagnosis not a "guess" Hope this helps! Dr Z
