You need an exam: It sounds as if you were being treated for a stomach ailment, but that shouldn't make you short of breath. You don't say if you are on any BCP's, but a blood clot or pneumonia or gall bladder disease could present this way. It wouldn't hurt to take an antacid with simethicone when the pain comes, but if this keeps up you do need to be seen again. Good luck! ...Read more

Given you are 64 years old, your heart is high on list. Pvcs, pacs, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, ischemia from a blockage. Copd, asthma, pleurisy, pneumonia, blood clots as well. Chronic Cough: Chronic cough is most commonly due to 3 conditions: asthma, post-nasal drip, or GERD (heartburn). You might have one or a combination of all three. Likely not cardiac: Right sided sharp chest pains that last only seconds and are not associated with shortness of breath or any other symptoms are unlikely to be of cardiac origin. Atypical chest pain: You should have it checked out since it has persisted for 13 hours. Go to an urgent care or ER today. Could be reflux or gallbladder disease, spasm from constipation, less likely in your case ( female young) cardiac.
