Depends: If the knee truly locks (i.e. It's in a fixed position and you literally can't straighten it), then you should see an orthopedist as soon as possible since it could be a bucket handle meniscus tear, which is considered somewhat of an emergency. U R a minor but U--: -need an answer. U must share this with Ur parents! Quad pain may B due 2 overuse, or 2 rapid elevation of Ur program. B sure U have a day of rest after a hard workout. Hypermoble -rt lateral ankle pain 2mnths. Can't stand on toes or pain on back outer side. Constantly wear brace for support. Pain throbs and sharp.
Many possibilities: R.I.C.E. Rest, ice, compression, elevation. Immobilization with a splint or brace may be of benefit in the initial phase of recovery. Oral anti-inflammatory medication may help with the pain and swelling. Once improved, mobilization and physical therapy can help restore strength and function.
