Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) & Valium prescribed after acdf for pain or spasms. After 10 days none present. Only have cough & intermittent numbness. Is it ok to stop meds?
Good for you: Glad to hear acdf (cervical spine surgery) has worked out for you with no pain or spasms for 10 days. At 10 days out, valium & Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) would be used as needed. If there is no pain, insomnia, anxiety or spasms, there is no good reason to take these. Persistent cough, numbness, difficulty swallowing should be reported to the spine surgeon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm experiencing intermittent numbness in my right pointer finger at the tip. The nail bed becomes pale & lasts under 5 min. Thx?
Numbness=perception&: complex with many possible reasons. However paleness (vs. pink) nail bed always=result of color of red blood cells in capillaries close enough to surface to see. If they're completely foreign to you, they could be related to the remedy. Collaborative care with your neurologist would be wise. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I had an acdf c6-c7 with allograft last June. I have intermittent numbness to b/l pinky/ring finger and r arm pain for the last 10 days...related?
Possibly not: If it just started 10 days ago, likely not from the C6-7 level given the distribution of symptoms too. Your surgery was about 1 year ago. So it is likely your new symptoms is coming from the level below your prior surgery, or from your ulnar nerve most likely from your elbow. Go see s spinal specialist for advice. ...Read more
