Seen 2 Drs about a groin lump. Both said it was a reactive node. How long will the swelling last? 3rd week now. Still worrying about cancer.

Seen 2 Drs about a groin lump. Both said it was a reactive node. How long will the swelling last? 3rd week now. Still worrying about cancer.

Lymph node enlarged: In general lumps in the groin can be present and up to 1.5 or 2 cm in size. They are generally reactive but low grade lymphomas ( lymph node cancer ) can present like this. It is however a condition that we generally watch and don't jump into treatment. I 'd wait for another week , if the node is growing then I will recommend removing it as a a biopsy. for now your 2 doctors are correct . ...Read more

Check the skin: Make sure to check your skin all along your leg, including your foot for anything that could be causing the reactive node. Also make sure to ask about the possibility of a hernia. If nothing, and your still worried, you could have it surgically removed and sent to a pathology lab to find out for sure. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I am having groin pain on lower left side with swelling. What could it be?

Possible Hernia: A hernia results from a weakening in the abdominal wall, allowing intestines to poke through. If you can "push" the swelling back but it returns, then it likely is a hernia. If the swelling gets worse, becomes reddened or is associated with increased pain/nausea/vomiting, you would need to go to the er immediately. The intestines can become trapped, stopping their blood flow (strangulation). ...Read more

What could it be if I have pain in my right nut, lower back, swelling in my right groin ?

Is it bad if i can feel a lympy node in upper left groin, it's about the size of a pea, doesn't hurt, and no visible swelling, and moves around easily?

Not so bad: If you're thin or athletic build, it's not uncommon to feel a small lymph node in your groins, perhaps several. Now , if this continues to enlarge, yet remains painless, it should be evaluated. I suspect this is not much to be concerned about. Do not manipulate is several times a day. Just check it every 3-4 days . Good luck. ...Read more
