I had four concurrent episodes of tonsillitis which have since cleared up, i now have intermittent left earache, is it related?
Perhaps: If you have a persistent inflammatory focus behind the tonsil it may cause obstruction of the nasopharygeal end of the eustacian tube and cause ear pain. Ear pain can also be referred from irritation of the back of the throat. If this persists go and see an ENT doctor. Hope you get better soon. ...Read more
Got earache which is intermittent and severe at times. Can i take amoxicillin 500 mg for temporary relief ? Pls suggest the medicine.
Need to know why...: If you have a bacterial infection, amox may help... But it should only be used if recommended by your doctor. You should probably schedule an appointment with your doctor to have an examination. Use Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen in the meantime. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Having earache in the left ear, it's intermittent and severe at times. Can i take amoxicillin until i see doctor? Pls suggest some medicine..
Unwise- : Your doctor needs to see you while having symptoms. Taking abx by yourself will make it more difficult for your doctor to diagnose what is going on since 1) you may mask symptoms , 2) increase the chances of complications caused by the abx you are taking, and 3) increase the chances of developing a multi-drug resistant bacteria. In the meantime, symptomatic relief with Ibuprofen is suggested. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
