Duefor flexi-sig, 20mg temazepam did nothing last time, doc will prescribe diazepam she said. What dose and how long before should I take?Extreme anxiety

Its up to your doc: Without knowing more about you it would be irresponsible and frankly not possible to determine an appropriate dose for a procedure. In people for whom typical doses aren't adequate we will often bring in an anesthesiologist to control the level of sedation. We don't want to stop your breathing which happens occasionally even with small doses. Pre procedure 5-10mg of diazepam is typical. ...Read more

Help? I have been prescribed diazepam for back pain. Will the pain come back once i stop taking it?

Hopefully not: Diazepam is a muscle relaxant (as well as a head relaxant). We often prescribe it for acute muscle injuries. Hopefully with a little rest and muscle relaxant you are much improved within 1 week. If not pls follow up with your doc. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Can diazepam be used as a muscle relaxant? Would a doctor prescribe it for that?

Can be: There are no good muscle relaxants- think about it-if you take a pill that hits all your muscles and made them relax (not contract) you would be too weak to stand. All meds are a compromise to try to decrease spasms, but not be too dangerous. Diazepam (valium) is one that can be used in this manner. But must be used carefully as people can become dependant upon it. Short term use (days) only. ...Read more

What would 50mg of diazepam and a lot of weed do to me? Is it dangerous? I feel pretty sick right now

Sedation: Sedation is a common side effect caused by benzodiazepines like diazepam (valium) and cannabis. These substances also increase the risk of attention deficit, coordination deficit, concentration and memory loss. They possibly will augment their potential if taken together, although it is likely developing some tolerance to those effects when taken for long periods of time, and in high doses. ...Read more

Which of these has nightmares as a side effect? Oxycodone, percocet, celecoxib, or diazepam(valium)?

Which of these has nightmares as a side effect? Oxycodone, percocet, celecoxib, or diazepam(valium)?

Hard to Say: Side effects of most medications are turning out to be highly individualistic and sometimes based upon genetic susceptibility! this is fairly new research. But, it suggests that any specific side effect is not necessarily going to happen to you. That said, with the exception of celecoxib, these drugs are narcotics and/or sedative/hypnotics and can cause "dysphoric" feelings and hallucinations. ...Read more

How long does diazepam withdrawal last?

How long does diazepam withdrawal last?

Long: Valium has a long half-life in your system (diazepam is 30—60 hours), and metabolic breakdown products of that last longer -- some up to 100 hours. This means that withdrawal symptoms can start within 5 days to 14 days, but can be delayed for up to 3 weeks (because of the breakdown products). You may need some medical help during this, because withdrawal from benzodiazepines can cause seizures. ...Read more

Took one 2mg dose of diazepam 8 days ago for a medical procedure. Is it safe to drink alcohol moderately at this point? I know the half-life is long.

Diazepam: There are no medications which last 8 days in your system, even the longest does not exceed 72 hours. Therefore, drinking alcohol after that period of time is not going to interact with diazepam. Possibly it is not the same if consuming alcohol and sedatives on the same day. ...Read more
