You must call your doctor to help you manage this medically as you may be past the stage of DIY remedies, and need to protect against the consequences of the ulcer. Most narcotics: Are not great at treating stomach pain. Things like gastritis will still be painful and taking narcotics will slow gastric emptying, maybe lending to worse pain. If you have chronic stomach pain, see an interventional pain doc and he may be able to do a block of the celiac plexus, which may help, but can be a risky shot. It depends: It depends on what's causing the pain. Naproxen is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medication that will address most if not all forms of pain. Baclofen has muscle relaxant properties that are helpful if there is a spasm component or increased tone component of pain. NSAIDS : Up to 25% of nsaids users develop peptic ulcer disease, many even a symptomatic, 2-4% develop bleeding and perforation. Pain may get better with food but if advance may get worse. You need a full exam labs urine C&S. 24 urine for stone analysis kidney ultrasound or CT.. And usually empiric antibiotic therapy pending the results.
