Unlikely: Claritin is an antihistamine with good relief for itching, sneezing, runny nose with less effect on nasal congestion. Ear pain that is caused by allergies may be slightly relieved, but typically, a decongestant that decreases nasal congestion is better suited to relieve the ear pain that goes along with eustachian tube dysfunction. A nasal steroid spray may be even more effective. ...Read more

Try decongestant: Your symptoms may be due to eustachian tube dysfunction, where the tubes that connect the middle ear to the back of the throat are blocked so pressure builds up in the middle ear. Decongestants like sudafed can help relieve the symptoms (as long as there is no reason you can't take decongestants such as uncontrolled high blood pressure). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Possibly migraine: you are having a migraine issue. The ear pain may be from teeth clenching or grinding partly related to your anxiety or less likely an inner ear infection. You need to talk to your doctor and get examined. Glaucoma should be ruled out as the cause for the eye pain- get the eye pressure checked since it may lead to permanent loss in vision if left untreated. Good luck. ...Read more
Having severe ear pain (4 days) deep inside & behind ear into neck. No drainage, sharp/stabbing pain, worse if laying down. What can I do for relief?
Need an exam: It's possible you have an infection in the ear canal or behind the ear drum. However your symptoms are somewhat atypical for these causes. See an ENT doctor: Ear pain and fullness can be due to tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Retraction of drum may indicate eustachian tube obstruction, but that requires a specialist's observation. Crackling on swallowing is normal. The presence of normal hearing strongly indicates no pathology in the external or middle ear. ...Read more

Decongestants: Promoting drainage from an obstructed sinus outlet is one major factor, along with antibiotics. This can be helped along by irrigation with saline/bicarb solutions, nasal steroids, oral decongestants (pseudoephedrine), and other similar products.
