Is it true that petroleum jelly is good to minimize scars from insect bites, rash and open wounds?
It's OK: Wounds heal best when kept moist and vaseline is a good moisturizer. However, there may be products more appropriate for specific wounds. My 2+ year old has been having running nose for at least 3 mths. He has bouts of insect bite or rashes i can't differentiate. How to diagnose & cure?
Allergies: I suspect it's allergies. If it's clear drainage and if he has associated allergy symptoms like sneezing, red itchy eyes then allergic rhinitis is likely the cause of his runny nose. If you haven't seen an insect bite him and in particular if this is a recurrent rash it's unlikely to be an insect bite. Eczema or allergic dermatitis are commonly associated conditions. See your pediatrician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can cetaphil help in preventing dark scar marks from occurring from insect bites and other skin rashes?
Won't prevent scar: But it will soften the area and help make it less noticeable. Normal insect bites shouldn't scar unless scratched open if this is a problem too try putting some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream on and covering with band aid.
