Sounds serious...: When a person loses control of the bladder, but was fine before... that's a problem. When combined with neurological symptoms in the legs or lower back, it becomes an emergency. In such a situation, one should get an immediate evaluation to see if there is something pressing on the spinal cord, which could lead to permanent paralysis. Sciatica: 30's female with unilateral sciatica needs evaluation for cause of this neuralgia. Neural impingement might be occurring at lumbar foramena, sacroiliac joint or pyriformis muscle.
